TO: George Soros FROM: Your accountant

November 18, 2009

George? It’s me. Look, we’re coming up to year-end, and we really need to talk about this Media Matters thing. Again.

I have to ask one more time: are you sure you’re getting your money’s worth?

I go over there today and that Eric guy is back with the typos:

Clearly the question on the table today isn’t whether Fox News is “fair and balanced.” (Almost nobody think [sic] it is.) It’s whether Fox News still even [sic] resembles a legitimate news organizations [sic].

No offense if he’s your wife’s cousin or something, but George — seriously? Did you lose a bet with Podesta? Media Matters is supposed to be looking for other peoples’ mistakes, not making its own.

Anyhow, Eric’s got hold of some new study that says Fox News is “fair and balanced.” OK, fine. The study supposedly only looks at 30 minutes of Fox at a time. So Eric goes:

Yet from that tiny, almost laughably small 30-minute daily sample, Lichter draws sweeping conclusions about whether a 24-hour news channel is “fair and balanced”?

George, I hate to break this to you but: that’s what goes on at Media Matters every day. And your people don’t even say a few words about the “tiny, almost laughable small” video clips they show. I mean, is this here an actual thing?

Jacoby says whether “Obama likes it or not, it’s America he represents more than himself”; Carlson replies “Bingo”

Really? George, you’re paying kids to watch tv, and not even bother adding some comments. I keep expecting to see a Snidely Whiplash moustache Photoshopped on Hannity’s face one day.

My professional advice to you is to close this Media Matters down and put the money into something half-decent. I hear gold’s pretty hot right now. Who says…? Uh, just a guy. You don’t know him.

Mr. Soros is part of those individuals whose wealth is predicated on that of others whose credit rating will continually have to been sustained by taxpayers. If you think Madoff’s scheme was damaging, multiply that by a thousand and think about auctioning off the White House soon.

    Kathy,

When someone picks on someone’s spelling and grammar it’s means they have no other arguments – they’ve lost. When I look at Eric’s post, the errors you pointed out are not there.

That’s because he monitors this site and edits them after he is corrected. Are you really that dense?

Kathy: Why do you keep telling the lie that George Soros fund Media Matters?

Oh, and on the subject of typos, there’s plenty to go after at NewsReal, so you might want to clean up your own house first:

I think the lefties don’t like it when conservatives use their tactics against them. There is a “s” missing after “fund”. Sentence two is grammatically incorrect and a run on.

Since facts are inconsequential to your blog, Terry, why should it matter if Kathy has empirical evidence Soros funds you or not? And, who’s to say she doesn’t? You have a vested interest in hiding that fact making your testimony suspect.

It’s call ‘dog whistle politics’ Terry. Conservatives hate Soros because he spent so much trying to defeat Bush in 2004. So now they try to concect him with everything on the left.

And you see nothing amiss with Soros buying up the Democratic Party. Here’s a tip that might lead you is the right direction: Threat to democracy!

You know I’m getting a bit put out by your obvious misdirection. Do you work for Media Matters (phone solicitor)? Read this! Tthan shut The Flubber up with your false diatribes.

    The video is even better

What misdirection? By the most logical and common definition — whether a Soros-controlled organization has given money to Media Matters — he has not. Soros funding a group that, in turn, has donated money to Media Matters is not the same thing as Soros funding Media Matters.

Also, O’Reilly’s personal attacks on Media Matters hardly translates to fact. And who created the above video? Media Matters!

(And yes, I do work for Media Matters, though I’m not speaking for it here. I’m just a private citizen and freelance media watchdog.)

      — InTheKnow: “Since facts are inconsequential to your blog, Terry, why should it matter if Kathy has empirical evidence Soros funds you or not?”

So you admit there’s no evidence that Soros funds Media Matters and Kathy is lying? And cite a false claim on ConWebWatch.

        Terry K. says-

“So you admit there’s no evidence that Soros funds Media Matters and Kathy is lying? And cite a false claim on ConWebWatch.”

You have committed a hasty generalization in your assumption that my statement is an admission of anything. Your deliberate OMISSION of the second half of my paragraph to manufacture a non existent point is not unusual. Here, let me try:

        Original-
“Soros funding a group that, in turn, has donated money to Media Matters is not the same thing as Soros funding Media Matters.”

Edited (shout out to Terry K.)-

        …..Media Matters is…the same thing as Soros……

Aha! You admit it! Soros and Media Matters are one and the same!

Yes, it’s a great video, notice how O’Reilly always says Media Matters is despicable and never backs it up with facts.

Spin your BS someplace else. All politicians lie; it is the percentage we’re interested in and at the moment, your party heads the list.

You must be pretty young just stuffed with naivety. One of the best Churches I ever went to was having an election for elders.
Before the vote us young folks where given a lecture that you vote for who pay’s for the rugs . In other words the money men or women get first dibs because most of the cash come from them.
My first Election campaign at a meeting we worked. Was told by the Head guy not to even trust the candidate. A view shared by all the board that elected him candidate. This was standard no matter what party or politician was running, so they said.
    Now you tell me Soros is not involved when he supplies the candy. lol (O:}
    Happy Trails

I hope Ms. Shaidle’s intention is to get a rise from the Media Matters guys, because it would be both sad and hilarious if she thinks she posted something even remotely resembling a real argument.

    Terry and Harmon,
Let’s cut to the chase. Soros funds the Apollo Foundation which then hides the sources of it’s “donations” and redistributes the moolah to various Progressive/communist entities. This is how he funds Media does not-Matters. Simple enough for you????? But, he is not alone in his attempt to destroy America and all that live here. There are others that pour money into the Apollo Foundation to cover their tracks and fund despicable endeavors. Just a side note. When they are finished with the useful tools, such as yourself and others, they will shove you under the bus and move on to other dim-witted believers and use them up too. So, you can continue being a child that goes through life with hands over your ears while singing “I can’t hear you”, or you can become an adult and wake up and end your moronic behavior.Grow up. Please give my regards to the other useful tools over at Media does not-Matters they give us the best laughs.
