Carter’s “racism” accusations “shock the conscience”

September 16, 2009

Calling it “a story that shocks the conscience,” last night Sean Hannity devoted considerable time to former President Jimmy Carter‘s charges that many of Barack Obama‘s critics are motivated by racism. Carter recently told NBC News:

I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African-American.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich joined Hannity to unpack Carter’s slanderous comments. Gingrich pointed out the obvious: that the Left’s rabid hatred of President George Bush was “vastly greater” than any animosity currently being displayed towards Obama.

Many people thought Jimmy Carter failed, too,” Gingrich added, “but I don’t think they voted against him because he was white.”

However, the “obvious” will never convince those for whom radical politics is a pseudo-religion; as Gingrich reminded viewers, “far Leftists can’t believe anyone could possibly disagree with them,” so they conclude Obama’s critics must be motivated by “something more sinister”: racism.

This morning, Ed Morrissey at offered the best response so far to Carter’s twisted comments:

If Jimmy Carter believes that the “overwhelming” portion of criticism towards Barack Obama is due to racism, does he also believe that the overwhelming portion of criticism towards Israel is anti-Semitic?  Wouldn’t that apply to a man who hangs out with people who target Israeli citizens for terrorist attacks?  After all, Hamas regularly issues anti-Semitic harangues and smears, and yet Carter has no problem cozying up to them and claiming that their criticism of Israel is legitimate.

From now on, using Carter’s own logic, we should note each of his remarks on the Middle East by saying they come from “Jimmy Carter, known anti-Semite.”  Two can play this game.

It is quite apparent that the leftist are using the race card to avoid confronting the opposition to their socialist agenda.

How outrageous have things become in Washington?

The tactic remind me of radicals convincing their children to sacrafice for the good of a cause.

Isn’t the debt we are giving the next generation, similar

It’s hard to believe that even a rabid anti-semite like Carter, would have the balls to stand up and call anyone a racist, but there’s obviously a bit of truth to the left’s position that racism is still prevalent amongst white guys.

Lowlifes like Jimmy Carter are proof of that…

I recently moved to the south, and all my hip intellectual friends told me that the Southern Redneck Bigots would make me crazy down here… & guess what… I haven’t met even one in the last 3 years…

But Jimmy Carter proves that bigotry is still alive…

Obviously the Naval Academy couldn’t even breed the “cracker” out of this elitist POS.

The Carter Administration was one of the most corrupt, incompetent Administration this country has ever experienced. This clueless bankrupt peanut farmer with his illegal loans from Burt Lance only became president because of George Wallace forcing the Liberal/Left to bring in a counter to Wallace – who, of course, was shot and crippled. He is cozy with some of the worst dictators in the world whom he envies.

Are the “racists” inside or outside of the White House? How many inside the W.H. were Black Panthers, Weathermen, SDS, Communist, Socialist, etc. and, possibly, still are? How many have completed FBI background checks? Where is the non-term limited Congress who is more interested in getting re-elected than doing their job.

Congressional Term Limits Now!!! (not to digress)

Constantly bringing up Rev. Wright and denying that he is born in this country (The Birther Movement) are veiled forms of racism. The there is the sham unprofesional by journalism of ACORN by racist Glenn Beck who said President Obama has “a deep seated hatred for white people.”

I theorize that, by the virtue of your repeated posting of “evidence” to counter conservative arguments sourced from complicit, leftist propogandists, you are not here to make valid arguments. You respond to logically valid arguments with links to liberal blogs. How many posts here emphatically state that the liberal media cannot be trusted? They provide evidence to support their arguments. Most of the evidence presented by the columnists does not rely on conservative blogs as a primary source for supportive facts. Conversely, your arguments are almost verbatim statements made on the same liberal blogs that you espouse as evidentiary support. You are simply repeating what they tell you to repeat. Talking points from liberal blogs (which are written to counter these conservative arguments) are not proof to the contrary. The are reactive and therefore not logically valid counter arguments. Hence the term “Circular firing squad”.

I think the term is know as PROJECTION.

Carter should look at himself since he sees the racism where there is none.

The problem with the suggested response is that the grotesquely incompetent and profoundly embarrassing Carter IS a known– and very well established– anti-Semite. I still shudder at the memory of his clown-like presidency, and the incredible amount of damage he managed to do to this country in four short years.

If you lived under Carters keystone cops administration, it was a continuing long stretch of ennui mixed with dispiriting loss of hope for many.. This all became rolled up in the fiasco of Carters forced ejection of the Shaw by encouraging the present Iranian nuts in power. Days upon days of watching American Embassy officials being humiliated while Carter’s military action became laughable worldwide. As it failed miserably. Like all he did. Everything this guy touched decayed in dissolution.
This article pretty much says what we thought back then. Seems a dog always goes back to eat its own vomit. Even the critters didn’t like him.

Carter’s comment’s are not soley intended to chastise or intimidate those of us who dare speak up in opposition to President Obama’s policies, his comments are intended to bait fire up the African Americans; fortunately African Americans no longer biting…

Jimmy Carter needs to retire from life. Perhaps he can be the first casualty of that insane health fiasco that Obamarahma WILL pass, in spite of (or, to spite) those rabid right-wingers who cling to their Bibles and their guns.

Hey, go out and buy MORE Bibles and guns, folks!

      Patricia refers to:

“those rabid right-wingers who cling to their Bibles and their guns.”

And in doing so provides more proof of my theory that that a good percentage of the people on the left reject republican because of their PERCEIVED affinity with the religious right…

Don’t be afraid of guns in the hands of honest citizens Patricia… Instead, you should be VERY afraid of a society in which only the politicians and criminals (sorry, I know that was redundant) have the guns.

Evidently you were not around for the Black Panthers, Weathermen and SDS murderers. I am not a Christian but I never heard of anyone being killed by a bible. Don’t give me that “brainwashed” bull like all Christians are Right Wing idiots. See the 2008 election results.

Also, I never heard of a licensed gun owner committing murder though I personally know of those who protected themselves, families, neighbors and citizens from thugs who illegally owned guns and other weapons of death. If they waited for a 911 response the innocent would be dead and the guilty would be free to kill and maim again.

Check your sources then check them again.

I am a disabled person, and therefore I suppose that I am part of one of the Democrats’/liberals’ favored groups. However I refuse to live on their Liberal Plantation. I do not want a nanny state to take care of me.

The Liberals seem to only favor those ‘minorities’ who “know their place” and toe the party line. “Uppity” minorities like Michael Steele, Clarence Thomas, and women like former Governor Palin, and many others who are conservative are called names, demonized, and otherwise abused rather than debated on the facts and issues. Liberals favor “diversity” of ethnicity or skin color but not diversity of thought by their own dhimminis.

What do Liberals have in their wallets? The race card — they can’t debate without it.

You’re right.. the race card is the ONLY ammo they have.

It has always puzzled me that the liberal elites, with all their degrees from the ivy league schools, are still unable to understand that they’re continuously biting the hand that feeds them….

We’re the ones who have made this possible by virtue of our last 50 or so years of apathy… we give them an inch (to pursue their apparently noble goals) and then they chew our arms off.

My grandparents came from Russia and Germany, & I while I lament what happened to Afro Americans in the past, I will NEVER feel guilty about it.

But the race hustlers, like Jackson, Sharpton, Rangel, and Obamma’s pal Gates up at Harvard still insist that I owe them reparations…

Remember what it means folks… They want us to pay them for things that we never did, and that never even happened to them.

Talk about a great BS story…. wow. That really takes the cake.

When people talk that crap to me these days, I have a simple one word reply:

( There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch )

We should use that single word as the battle cry for the 2nd American Revolution….
