Great video, a very concise demonstration of a pivotal point. I will be referring people to it often.

My favorite recent quote by Glenn Beck was when it was pointed out that he had left out the ‘C’ in his acronym on the structure of the Obama White House. He corrected this by saying: ‘You can’t spell Oligarchy without the Czars!’

What an excellent video! As the video shows too many people today think that democracy is the form of government which the founders defined — and they’d be wrong. The truth is that rule of law, individual rights and limited government has been replaced in most peoples thinking by democracy. It’s even upheld as the form of “freedom” that should be exported. The video clearly shows the continuum that leads from democracy to tyranny.

9th grade student: “What is our form of Government anyway?
9th grade history teacher: “We are a Democracy”
2nd 9th grade student: “What is the difference between a Democracy and a Republic?”
9th grade teacher: “I’m no exactly sure, but here’s what I think”

Actual account of classroom event yesterday Sept. 16, 2009

I forwarded this video to the 2nd 9th grader which was how I learned about the above conversation; he has subsequently forwarded it to his teacher.

He notified me because he remembered a conversation around our dinner table about the topic of US Government compared to others currently and through out history.

Talk to your kids, grandkids and their friends – you have a voice and they listen!

How I wish I could have shown this video
to GED students! We discussed the difference
between types of governments — particularly the
    difference between a Democracy and
a Republic. The students, of course, had previously
thought we were a Democracy. I am saving this
    video for future reference.
    It is SUPERB !

“[Democracy]’s even upheld as the form of “freedom” that should be exported.”

My more cynical side believes there is intention there. At the highest level of public and foreign policy circles, it is surely understood what democracy is and what it leads to. That is why I grant those against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan a limited amount of credence, because even our expressed purpose, “exporting democracy,” is not conducive to the national sovereignty or individual freedom of those we supposedly wish to help. I think it is reasonable to assert our actual goal is the formation of friendly foreign oligarchies that will cater to our will.

I agree with Walter. This video should become the most widely circulated video on the Internet. Let’s get it started, and then keep it rolling.
