Obama’s Applause Lines Tell Us Everything

David Horowitz commented on The One’s sellout speech to the UN this morning. Sometimes one stray fact is enough to tell a whole story: The biggest applause lines by far were his declaration that “America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements,” and his pledge to end the Israeli “occupation that began in 1967.” The chamber erupted at the words, and the applause lasted longer than any other interruption.

The following section of his speech — describing U.S. actions to combat AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, polio, H1N1, and global economic squalor — received no applause whatsoever:

America will continue our historic effort to help people feed themselves. We have set aside $63 billion to carry forward the fight against HIV/AIDS, to end deaths from tuberculosis and malaria, to eradicate polio, and to strengthen public health systems.

We are joining with other countries to contribute H1N1 vaccines to the World Health Organization. We will integrate more economies into a system of global trade. We will support the Millennium Development Goals and approach next year’s summit with a global plan to make them a reality. And we will set our sights on the eradication of extreme poverty in our time.

Clearly, the audience is more motivated by the death of the modern Israeli state than the deaths of the world’s poor.

While everything he says and does makes me think he’s just a Chicago style Marxist thug…

Sometimes I just can’t help but wonder if he really isn’t the Islamic version of the Manchurian Candidate after all…

What can be expected from a left-wing traitor ?

I think you are all missing the point. Ben is pointing out that the world’s leaders have their priorities backwards. No world leader truly cares about the poor. They don’t care about the great things America has done for the world. They only care about seeing America “taken down a peg.” Obama is weak, yes, but the rest of the world doesn’t care about the downtrodden — unlike anti-Israeli view points.

I am sick at his speech to the U.N.

Barach Obama says we shouldn’t meddle in the affairs of other countries. Those of course
are just “words.” He makes exception to freedom loving countries like Israel and
Honduras, while giving a pass to the freedom hating ones.

You have to wonder if Israel’s decision not to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities during the Bush administration was the biggest strategic error of our time. It doesn’t appear Obama has any intention to assist them.

BOH: What kind of fool is he? Pedantic, pandering, and dangerous. Every time he opens his mouth he further compromises our national security and economic stability. Mr. Obama, you have disgraced the office of President of the United States. Shame on you, sir.

I don’t think it’ll be much longer before the balloon goes up. $500 a gas here we come since our government won’t let us use our natural resources or explore for more. What then Hussein? Maybe we can beat off the hordes of your people with windmills, solar panels, proper tire inflation, and magic wands.

Well said, Lawler. Thus far the ‘position’ doesn’t even require a birth certificate, or so I’m told… (google what other countries say about our Kenyan President ~ THAT is hurting the USA’s credibility more than ANYTHING right now. They’re laughing at our naivete, sad to say.

It’s interesting and a bit tough ~ I can’t hide the fact that I’m an American here in Australia. (They say ‘I’ talk funny…when it’s…….nawwww…. I like the way they talk!)

They get this ‘drivel’ from the ABC, which doesn’t change direction of ‘flush’ as it pumps out it’s world-wide propaganda, of course… though, I’d love to see that change… an ‘about face’ would be refreshing. ~ I hear these silly clips as I drive along ~ clips about those darned Americans shooting their rifles….their GUNS….for goodness sakes…….in fields in Iowa……..then the commentator talks about Americans shooting some farming pests with NO consideration for them ~ which they NEVER make clear what it IS that they are even shooting at…….. It’s pure lunacy and I keep prayin’ for the day when more of the Aussies can again look to the good ol’ USA for their talking/walking points… because without our ‘lead’ their carbon cap an’ trade is already in the wings and set to take off at any time…

I do believe, however, that the world STILL looks to us. They still love the ribald American Spirit that many on this site possess. If we can keep the dialogue germane, bold and informative and I ‘think’ we can count on the sensible Aussies to once again break free of progressive-ABC tyranny…and then, just maybe ~ their kids ~ like ours, sadly ~ may be able to take remedial classes in reading and writing once again…because their school system is JUST as mediocre. It’s a global travesty and they look to ‘our Kenyan’ in hope… We’ve GOTTA fix this.

PS ~ Friday the 25th looks beautiful from here…

The people who support Israel were warned about Obama and his pro-Moslem affections. The liberal Jews of Florida still voted for him, proving they worship the God of liberal more than they are4 Jews. Those Jews of Florida and elsewhere who supported Obama have a lot of work to do this Yom Kippur to ask forgiveness for their stupity and blindness. However each one is responsible for all the deaths that may be inflicted upon the Jewish people as a result of their actions.
This zealotry is one explanation why the Jews lost the Temple and Jerusalem to the Romans. As for Obama’s Jewish assistants, they are in the class of Torquenat, the ex Jewish leader of the Inqisition in Spain.

KARL – I loathe Obama but your rhetoric regarding Jews is absurd. Firstly, there is no evidence that as many Jews as the press reported did actually vote for him.

Secondly, no Jews are ‘in the class of Torquemada’ – that is an asinine remark on your part.

Thirdly, the Jews lost the Temple to the Romans because there were *more* Romans and they were far more brutal. The Jews were outnumbered.

I would suggest to you that ALL Americans – Jewish or Gentile – should never vote for Obama again. Quit bashing Jews!

Unfortunately, some people have such low intellect that they can only fall back on the same old scapegoats, and for a distressingly large part of the world’s population, that’d be “the Jews.”

Karl, the second Temple was lost due to the fact that the Roman’s were brutal, murderous, and killed, pillaged and destroyed everything in it’s path due to overwhelming numbers. It was the Roman emperor Hadrian that renamed Judea, Palestine. They also owned all the maps and could do anything that they wanted with the land and the people. Torquemada was not Jewish. Shame on you. Also, since the ballots are secret, how did you arrive at your Jewish vote statistics???The Jews are the “apple of G_d’s eye” and deserving of respect and the ability to defend themselves against the enemies of G_d. Yes, I am an evangelical Christian that believes that the land belongs to G_d and given to the Jews by covenant. All others on the land are there as guests and need to act as such. I am going to leave it at that.
