Contrary to your assertions, the left is in fact more vibrant and more powerful than it has ever been. How else did it manage to put a million activists in the streets to prevent the United States from taking down a monstrous regime and liberating millions of Third World people, and did so (unlike Vietnam) in the absence of a draft?

One of the great triumphs of the left by the way is the ability to make people like yourself think that when it comes to attacking America in the middle of a war anything goes, and that any attempt to identify “critics” who actually hate us is an attempt to stifle dissent itself. Thus it’s okay in time of war when Americans are in harm’s way to lie by denouncing the President for deceiving the American people into fighting an unjust war of “occupation,” even though John Kerry and other leaders of the opposition had access to the same intelligence reports as did George Bush and voted to authorize the use of force. It’s okay to demoralize America’s troops in the field with such lies, and encourage America’s enemies on the field of battle. I don’t buy it Jacob. I don’t know of any nation in the history of nations that has.

How Significant Is the Left?

The Left faced wimpy and incompetent opposition with the Republicans. Except for Ann Coulter, it seems none of the major Conservative voices have any idea what they’re dealing with.

They should’ve been called on the carpet as the Nazi collaboraters that they are with their support of the genocidal regime in Iran and the rest of the Islamic world. That was not done because no one wanted to criticize the death cult Islam publicly (though the Jews using the antiword “neocon” came in for a good bashing from the red/brown alliance.

And yet, for all of the lies, deceit, manipulation, second guessing the sitting administration, stolen primary, and ‘blank check’ campaign, they are rewarded with the seat and launch their totalitarian takeover of this country. Hugo Chavez would be proud and is probably taking notes. But, just because they are there does not mean they have won. There are still more of us than them. I would like to suggest a lawsuit be filed against the congress and this administration, charging them with violating the rights of the american peoples to be free of government other than what the constitution provides for.

John Kerry and the other cowards authorize the slaughter of Vietnamese, Laotians and Cambodians. after we pulled out. Demoralizing is a cowards way. Given another chance this is what you will see Iraqization and Afghanistanization
And if your to young to remember or if you do not understand do some reading.

Contrary to your assertions, the right is in fact more vibrant and more powerful than it has ever been. How else did it manage to put several thousand uninformed ( sponsored by the insurance industry ) in the streets to prevent the United States from providing healthcare for its people, and did so as the industrialized nation ranked 37th in the world for the effectiveness of its healthcare?

One of the great triumphs of the right by the way is the ability to make people like yourself think that when it comes to attacking America in the middle of a war it is unpatriotic to question poor leadership or equally bad decisions, and that any attempt to identify “critics” within our borders is an attempt to defend itself. Thus it’s okay in time of war when Americans are in harm’s way to lie by supporting the President for deceiving the American people into fighting an unjust war of “occupation,” even though certain “Dim”ocrats like John Kerry and other so called leaders of the opposition had access to the same intelligence reports as did George Bush and voted to authorize the use of force. It’s okay to demoralize America’s troops in the field with such lies until they get into that field and learn the truth about killing civilians “collaterally” or on purpose while America’s “enemies” are as elusive as ever ( bin Laden ? ) and cannot be fought in the same old, same old traditional ways ( maybe by drones that cannot tell the difference between women, children and “the enemy” by joystick). I don’t buy it David. Because you don’t know of or admit that any nation in the history of nations that has, really does have a hollow ring to it.
As you may be finding out, it takes a lot of guts and stamina to stand as a minority against one’s government when you think the leadership is wrong. And it does not mean you are “unpatriotic”. Think the last eight years while those of us stood in the streets and sidewalks, cold and rain, sun and whatever insults hurled from brave passengers of cars whizzing by, to protest two stolen elections and two illegal wars that Congress sheepishly gave away more and more of their power and our rights as citizens. We really have more in common that you may want to admit but we have a ways to go before we see eye to eye.

The left, always the left, is still dreaming with Danton, Robespierre and other notorious Frenchmen of the 18th century, apart from Lenin & Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot, its heroes of the 20th century.

Actually, the Leftist concepts proved time and again to be a mere neurotic obsession, not a social activism and much less a political ideology. This truism they tried hard to cover up ever since Marx was relegated to the garbage bin of history. The great Karl Marx, a dense writer that styled himself an economist, who was unable to earn even a modest living his entire life, all the while pontificating about the ills of capitalism vs. the sainthood of the proletariat.

Nowadays, when someone we know, or heard about, decides to suddenly embrace the Leftist views we should not be at all surprised. To better understand this phenomenon (also termed “coming out of the closet”), reading “Psychopathia Sexualis”, the masterpiece of Richard von Kraft-Ebbing, can certainly help. Since its publication, during the second half of the 19th century, many other medical books that include more recent diagnostic techniques were published and can help one better understand the Leftist ideas and posture.

True liberals are anything but liberal. They are out to fundamentally remake our country in a different image than was seen by the writers of The Constitution. They are closed-minded, bitter and hostile to true freedom.

They do however understand the trade off between freedom, risk and responsibility and willingly invert it. They have already convinced a large part of our population that (perceived) risk elimination is worth trading some freedom (see jjay above) and that they bear no responsibility for their actions or socioeconomic station in life.

Freedom is the opposite of free from _______ (risk, danger, want, fear, responsibility or offense) fill in the blank.

If it were only possible to calculate the difference in cost of the war on terror for a unified America compared to the cost of a divided America.

In other words what does it cost America in money and lives when the enemy realizes that only 50% of their adversaries are committed to winning as opposed to the 100% at the start of the battle? Does the enemy gain 50% more in determination and will to win? It is very likely. 50% or more.

Does that mean that our current cost is twice what it would have been with a unified front? Probably more than that. Could we then take the current cost in trillions of dollars plus the personal losses and divide it by 2 to establish a bill to present to the Democrats?

“Here, this is your responsibility. How are you going to pay for it?”

Would this monetary cost pay for healthcare reform? I expect it would many times over.

The thought that comes to mind is – you reap what you sow, and don’t start playing politics in the heat of a battle, especially when you signed up to fight.

The most easily identifiable characteristics of a “progressive” are personal economic failure coupled with envy of others’ success, guilt feelings about their own success, an obsession with ‘fairness’, and/or tolerance of behavioral extremes. These traits are found, either singly or in some combination, in nearly all those whose neuroses lead them to the left of the political spectrum.

The right is largely a lost cause. Since retiring I’ve returned to college (a local one here in the S.F. Valley). Anyone that thinks the next generation of leftists and radicals are not being trained right now on our college and university campuses, at taxpayers expense, well I have a bridge I’d like to sell you. I see Republicans talk about lots of issues, but Mr. Horowitz is one of the few that sometimes points out the leftist control of campuses – – – only he doesn’t do it enough, in my opinion. For all the hard work he’s done, the future of America is steadily being eroded on America’s college and university campuses through Marx-ocentric textbooks that lie about history, family, conservative values, etc., and through other curriculum and pedagogy (teaching) that lie and lie and lie, ad nauseum, ad infinitum. How will we ever take back America without taking back our schools, colleges, and universities. I just did an article for the school paper (I’m on staff) about club day. There wasn’t a single conservative issue organization present, but lots of lefties. Children and young adults become very entrenched in what they are hearing and learning on campuses, kindergarten through university.

    David,

You are quite right about the left. I served in Iraq from Feb 04 to May 05. I would refer your readers to an article entitled Saddam and Al Qaeda. It is written by Debra Baker of the CFR. The CFR clearly pointed out Saddam’s affiliation with 9 Islamic terrorist groups.

Furthermore, I can personally attest to the fact that Saddam had WMD. I cannot explain whyPresident Bush never presented the evidence.
