MSNBC Commentator: Republicans “Want to See You Dead…They Kinda Like It When That Woman Has Cancer”

Click to see Ed Schultz's unhinged meltdown.

On the Wednesday evening edition of “The Ed Show,” MSNBC commentator Ed Schultz stated that Republicans want Americans to die, and that they enjoy it when middle-aged women contract cancer. He then suggested that moderate Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine should allow tumors to spread through her body if she ever gets cancer.

Schultz, whose program runs between episodes of Hardball, began his program by discussing the story of a woman who came to a health-care town hall meeting sponsored by Rep. Eric Cantor, R-VA. The woman told of her uninsured friend, a middle-aged woman with stomach tumors. Incensed that Cantor did not immediately suggest socializing one-sixth of the nation’s economy as a result, an increasingly unhinged Schultz began screaming (starting at 5:14 in this clip):

The Republicans lie! They want to see you dead! They’d rather make money off your dead corpse! They kinda like it when that woman has cancer and they don’t have anything for her…My God, Democrats, what’s wrong with you?! You can’t deal with these people, at all!

After equating the GOP with the Cancer Caucus, Ed brandished a death wish against Olympia Snowe…

the moderate-to-liberal Republican U.S. Senator who has expressed support for a version of the “public option.” He played a clip of Snowe asking why the Democrats are insisting on ramming the bill through the Senate within the next two weeks, then suggested (at 7:17):

Now Olympia Snowe, I’m not wishing bad on you, at all, but if you get cancer in your stomach, Senator Snowe, what I would like you to do is wait two weeks to see a doctor. Huh?! You’re telling them to suck it up.

In the same red-faced rant, Schultz had the audacity to declare: “Here’s what the Republicans and all the righty talkers and all these psychos on TV do. What they do is play on your fears, as if somebody’s gonna come take something from you.”

This is the latest in a string of over-the-top statements from MSNBC’s most pronounced ratings failure. On September 1, he invited Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-MN, “to slit her wrist right here on ‘The Ed Show.’” Despite his accelerating pleas for Republicans to die, on the August 11 edition of his radio show Schultz accused the GOP of wanting to kill the president:

Sometimes I think they [conservatives] want Obama to get shot. I do! I really think that there are conservative broadcasters in this country who would love to see Obama taken out. They fear socialism. They fear Marxism.

On September 14th, he lied that 9/12 protesters carried signs that read “Bury Obama with Kennedy,” as the television screen showed a full-screen shot of the correct sign, which read, “Bury ObamaCare with Kennedy.”

BuryObamaWKennedy-EdShow091

The next day, Jimmy Carter repeated Ed’s lie.

Schultz, the Left’s latest Limbaugh, is undoubtedly under tremendous pressure. His program is tanking badly, and he is notoriously thin-skinned. But the claim that Republicans want people to die is both slanderously offensive and breathtakingly hypocritical. When Ted Kennedy got a brain tumor, conservatives prayed for him. When George W. Bush heard, erroneously, that Yasser Arafat had died, he replied, “God bless his soul.” When Ronald Reagan announced his Alzheimer’s Disease, left-wing activists popped champagne corks. One of talk radio’s most uncompromising conservatives, Laura Ingraham, is a breast cancer survivor; David Horowitz has written about his experience with prostate cancer. Neither seems apt to revel should others share their fate.

No telling if MSNBC will fake its transcript to cover for Schultz’s latest blow-up.

Considering Ed began his new, left-wing career with $800,000 raised by Senate Democrats to spread their propaganda, perhaps they should be asked if they agree with his sentiments. (Arlen Specter, for one, has issued a similar blood libel concerning Jack Kemp’s death.) Will Ed’s benefactors want to be held accountable if someone shoots a Republican in “self-defense”?

For now, Schultz will have to serve as the most explosive example of MSNBC’s hate speech and a fire-breathing indictment of the far-Left network’s broadcast standards.

Pure hate speech, it is. I’ve only “heard” Schultz from internet clips and it’s more than enough to prove his irrational, non-factual craziness. Would I ever tune-in to learn who Schultz ‘is’?

Nope. But this is very typical of what the far-left can produce. No reasoning. No factual evidence. It’s hate speech, extremely slanted opinions, and nonsense. All this while the far-left decries their lack of adequate representation in the media.

From time to time I do watch portions of the “ED Show”. More and more he sounds like a paid propagandist for the Obama administration. This clip is pretty typical of what his show is all about — i.e. finger pointing and marginalizing opponents with an over-the-top spittle-spewing tirade.

He always has a segment called “Psycho Talk” every day in which the focus is on one individual who has the temerity to stand up and express opposition to the power in Washington. But on the topic of psychos I’m thinking it’s about time ED looked in the mirror to see another candidate for that label.

Come to think of it, if ED Schultz laced on a pair of jackboots, strapped on a helmet and had a funny little mustache he’d likely fine he belongs in the same camp as his distant Uncle Adolph.

Reading PoliGazette, it appears the writer wants to compare Ed Schultz with Glenn Beck. How totally preposterous. I’ve never watched Mr. Schultz, but simply reading the quotes above confirms my opinion that he is a demented individual. No one filled with that kind of hate can be taken seriously as a critic. On the other hand if one follows Glenn Beck regularly, one would know that he is a compassionate individual who proves his case daily and loves and wants the very best for this Country which to use his words would be “individual freedm” for all.
I feel genuinely sorry for Mr. Schultz and those who harbor such hate as he, they must be extremely unhappy souls.

    • September 24, 2009 8:36 am

      Janet,
I think the point of the PoliGazette article was not to attack Beck but to demonstrate that everything leftist critics and soft-conservative critics of Beck claim to hate is manifest in much greater degree in Schultz.

They are trying to establish a moral equivalence precedent. It is a rhetorical fallacy that is meant to eliminate support for a just argument by removing credibility from the “moral” side and adding it to the “immoral” side. You can see it on this forum in many of the leftist comments defending the current administrations actions claiming that “Bush did the same thing”. It has no intellectual or logical merit but is effective in the political arena (which generally lacks logic, intellect and morals).

I rather give Ed the benefit of the doubt than those hate-mongering republicans. All going to be fixed by more taxes and education? Right…
That’s social “progress” I would hope you would have let us destroy

      • September 24, 2009 9:24 pm

JB, What you are saying about those with problems in america have not been the concern of the republicans that I know. Not being concerned adds to the problems. Many of the problems you mentioned have only been exasperated by not addressing them. Your precious tax dollars have been misused more by the republicans than anything the demomocrats have presented so far. It would be of great benefit to yourself if you actually investigate what is really going on with the problems we, as americans face. If we got to pay taxes, would not those monies be better spent to swolve our problems instead of creating or continuing the old problems? The republicans have seemingly dedicated themselves to continuing the problems and really are bad for america. I was a republican but I will not associate myself or support a party that has proven to be detrimental to the country I suffered and fought for.

Why do we debate what people think (in their opinion) what would be good for the country? Social justice, healthcare for all, etc….Let’s get back to what is legal according to the constitution. There is no wall to keep those who disagree with the constitution in. They are free to go espouse their opinions in any other region of the world (or so THEY think). It’s not up to them to superceded the powers the constitution outlines. Who will defend it?

Kenneth, I think what we mostly disagree on is this: What is the role of Government?

I do not believe the Government is the answer to our human conditions/problems as evidenced by decades of failed social policies. Taking more from those who have succeeded and giving it to those who can’t or won’t take responsibility for themselves (the Leftist/neo-Communist agenda) is wrong.

Wrong not only because it’s “legalized extortion” it helps no one except the pass through agencies (HHS, Education, etc) and their employees at the central government level and relieves the rest of us of our “moral” obligation to help our fellow man by turfing it to the Government. Those monies are best left in the hands of the individuals and if need be, local government.

And if you could go into a bit more detail on your statement: “The republicans have seemingly dedicated themselves to continuing the problems and really are bad for america” Please be specific as to the “problems that are bad for America” and how the Democrats have helped alleviate it in a more effective manner than the Republicans.

          Thanks, Julie

            Julie,
I see you are a sane person and not one of those crazies that have been supporing crushing the healthcare agenda. I respect your reasoning about government, which I have to agree is not the best solution for the countries’ problems. However we must not forget that most of those problems have been caused by our historial conflicts, the economic system and other factors which at this point government is the only solution. My experience with local gocvernment has been mixed, good and bad. Honest people are hard to come by and local governments also have had their share of crazies, crooks and opportunists. There are no easy solutions.

          Kenneth,

Were you born yesterday? Because, I’ve got to tell you, I’m fifty-five years old, a woman, and I have lived through the changes in the last half century, and I remember them well. I even know some of the major players, their politics, and motiviations in the moment. The left has heedlessly pushed the “PROGRESSIVE” agenda without regard for the consequences to our nation; but rather to create this mess which they think is “ENLIGHTENED.”

Take for instance, Planned Parenthood. The administrator of PP in the SF Bay Area was my uncle & and aunt’s ‘roommate’ in college. She was relentlessly hedonistic as a person, and still to this day thinks that birth control is all about encouraging sexual experimentation without consequences. She is blissfully oblivious to the consequences of the so-called sexual revolution that created a social environment that freed men from considering the consequences to women of sexual relationships. There are and continue to be severe emotional consequences for women who enter into sexual relationships anticipating a long term commitment, which is consistent with our biological/psychological satisfaction, and do never accomplish that end. Further, males (in what could be argued is a biological tendency) to abuse both the women and the children produced in such liaisons, because absent a social pressure to nurture the family unit that has been created, the threat of violence controls others, and their courage to ask for their ‘needs’. Serial relationships lead to long term depression for women, destroying their mental stability and ability to make rational, constructive, life-preserving decisions. Sexually transmitted diseases in the public consciousness are HIV, clamydia, and gonorrhea, but quite possibly are the source of some autoimmune diseases that emerge to plague us after we are menopausal. What we have are generations of mentally and often physically broken women, single mothers whose sons and daughters are half as likely to graduate from high school (absent a father), and twice as likely to be involved in drugs, alcohol, burglary, sex and other crimes. Many of these children have been physically, mentally and sexually abused by the transient male in their mother’s life — a woman who is struggling to create economic stability, and may be laboring under the illusion that the male will nuture her children.

Asking the question, where did the social value in sexual freedom begin, was promoted, and bore fruit? Who lionized the idea that women had more value in the work force than in raising children? What has the unreasonable expectation that women should be ‘supermoms’ and be able to do it all done to families? What has leaving children alone more than eleven hours a week at home done to their access to drugs, alcohol, and teen (or younger) sex?

All of these social problems that you vilify Republicans for not addressing have been historically promoted as an agenda by the LEFT consistently for more than a hundred years, with an educated eye toward eroding the influence of the family, and the destruction of the stabllity of the family unit. A stable, committed family unit can settle wilderness, farm it and provide for itself, but a modern family unit can not survive the short twenty year commitment to rear children. Communism and Socialism have consciously and demonstrably created programs that remove children from the formative influences of their parents, encourage their sexual activity, and mold their values into commitment to the state rather than individuals.

Once societal support systems such as the family unit and religious affiliations are deliberately marginalized or destroyed, the government takes over the role of the support system, and when the government is the only support system, the worker is completely dependent upon government for his or her life. At this point, lives become valueless to the state, and people become expendable slaves. This is about power for a small, elite group; it is the antithesis of the political system established by our Constitution and nurtured by our forefathers. We believe a system that encourages individual liberty, and economic entrepreneurship, with all of its flaws, serves humanity better than dependence on a nameless, faceless bureaucrat. This is why we fear our government under Obama.

I will grant you, the American brand of Protestant Christianity has been a lightening rod for demonstrations of intolerance and moral hypocrisy, but Christianity historically has been creator of charity that has defined to an extraordinary degree our national character. Forgotten in history class, are the fourth century theologians who sold their inheritance to establish the first hospitals, orphanages, and hospices. Examine the legacy of other faith traditions by the availability of hospital care, hospice or orphanages in countries where a faith tradition other than Christianity dominates, or has dominated. Examine the behavior of mobs of people demonstrating in other non-Christian countries — and remember the savage brutality of such mobs, unheard of in the US — I am thinking of people hacked, torn limb from limb and burnt alive by crowds, things that do not happen in our country. American charity and civility will last a few generations absent a religious consciousness, but humanity, robbed of the historical societal structures will continue to lose those structural values that have enabled us to live well and in relative harmony, advance medically and technologically, maintaining a relatively war-free zone for our nation. We will stagnate like the old Soviet Union. We will become petty, and selfish, watching our neighbors for signs of weakness and opportunity. We will turn to alcohol to numb our frustrated creativity and intellect, and the frustration at our inability to change the political system that has robbed us of freedom.

          • September 25, 2009 12:29 pm

MMM, you sound bitter and bias. That’s probably not your fault. You forgot about the civil rights movement and the atrocities committed then. There are labor conflicts full of atrocities and we can go on and on about how america reacts.

It’s really quite simple. Fueled by FOX. Fooled by FOX. A Harvard Study points out that 45,000 people are dying in America each year because they don’t have healt care. That’s 12 people per hour. One every five minutes. And the next one could be your sister, your brother. A cousin. Republicans are making noise, but because they have cut a hard right and are trying to kill health care, they are now killing their fellow Americans. No, that is not harsh. It is just a sad reality. Thank God and Praise Jesus that Republicans have made themselves largely irrevelant. We are all American and we all deserve a chance to live–a chance that can only come through all of us having a choice in our health care–a choice that includes a public option for those who need it. I am almost 70 and I have public health care through Medicare–which I know is socialism, but then, I had Indian Health Service when I was young and on the reservation, Army Medical Corps when I served in the 82nd Airborne and VA after I got shot, and now Medicare–and you know what, the government has always done exactly what it was supposed to do. Now let it do it for all of the rest of us American.

And 100% of all the people with or without health insurance will die.

I think you should re-read the study (and it’s source is not Harvard). I’d link to it, but it’s protected (you have to pay for it, but since you are already quoting it I’m sure you’ve already paid for it)

You will be interested to know that they compared the uninsured to those privately insured. Interesting that they excluded those with public health insurance (Medicare/caid, VA, Indian Health service, etc).

What this means is that you can only extrapolate data to the groups you have studied and since this study excluded a large portion of the population: it’s useless information for the entire population but meets the publishing requirements for post-secondary students.

      Spears,

First, if you decide to toss out that biased study, give ALL the facts, not just your slant.

      From Reuters:

“Overall, researchers said American adults age 64 and younger who lack health insurance have a 40 percent higher risk of death than those who have coverage.”

“The Harvard study, funded by a federal research grant, was published in the online edition of the American Journal of Public Health. It was released by Physicians for a National Health Program, which favors government-backed or “single-payer” health insurance.”

“Study co-author Dr. Steffie Woolhandler said the findings show that without proper care, uninsured people are more likely to die from complications associated with preventable diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.”

      and….check this out!
“Some critics called the study flawed.

The National Center for Policy Analysis, a Washington think tank that backs a free-market approach to health care, said researchers overstated the death risk and did not track how long subjects were uninsured.”

Spears, better luck next time around….

Why would someone be so stupid as to say that 45,000 Americans die every day, Without health-insurance? It is getting real thick in the debate arena noe isn’t it. What kind of moronic logic does it take for someone to say something like that witout any prove. Then here we go, YOU WANT PROVE. THEY MOST LIKELY WILL COME UP WITH SOME BOGUS paper made up from some left-leaning rag-paper. Then you have the drones, and all of there helpers that really do not get the concept of LIBERTY, FREEDOM, AND JUSTICE. We are a “FREE” people because “OUR” God given freedoms are what has kept us as a nation that way for over the last two hundred yrs. We do not have any rights to health-care. We as a free people are suppose to furnish that for “OURSELVES”. Now this is where it gets tricky boys, and girls. Try and realize that the left is so much in love with themselves that they think that America owes them everything that the hard working man, or women has earned for there own family. SORT OF LIKE THERE HERO HAS TOLD THEM–I WILL BE REDIRECTING ALL THE WEALTH OF THE AMERICAN TAX-PAYERS TO YOU. JUST THINK YOU CAN BE LAZY I WILL MAKE YOU RICH YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WORK ANYMORE. Mr. Speers,
I’m not sure I believe the Harvard Poll. I would certainly question the results of such a survey and how they came to its stated conclusion, especially since their math is off quite a bit. Anyway, I disagree with your position on a mandated public option which, incidentally, if enacted, would greatly diminish your Medicare benefits, and that’s a fact. I also would ask if you ever knew anyone personally who died because they were turned away by a hospital emergency room. I don’t. I think the perfect solution to this healthcare problem is to tell our representatives in Washington that we would like the exact same medical coverage that they have. What do you think? Oh, Mr. Speers, I wish very much to thank you for your military service, and I am so glad that you had good treatment when you needed it and so deserved it.

“Free” healthcare (at enormous cost to the taxpayers) will prevent people from dying? Your logic is assumptive. People die everyday, no matter what you do, you will also die, just like me. Healthcare at no cost will not prevent it. As for “I am almost 70 and I have public health care through Medicare–which I know is socialism, but then, I had Indian Health Service when I was young and on the reservation, Army Medical Corps when I served in the 82nd Airborne and VA after I got shot, and now Medicare–and you know what, the government has always done exactly what it was supposed to do. Thank you for your service, however, I do not think your grandfather or great grandfather would be of the same opinion regarding the US government. What we should do is follow the guidelines of the constitution, when we stop doing that, laws no longer matter.

    It’s always the… us vs. them… mentality.
Any writing on this board could be used on liberal site simply by substituting Fox in place of MSNBC and Republican in place of Democrat or Limbaugh in place of Shultz. It is the same rag tag whining from both sides.
Blaming this president or a previous president for a stimulus package are words wasted because it doesn’t move us forward and that is the problem with talking heads…they like to stay stuck on yesterday because that is where your minds are. It was both Bush and Obama who had fingers in the money jar. Bush pushed through the first package and signed off on it before Obama ever took office. Obama came in and asked for more.
All anyone is doing by pumping up the egos of these talking heads is creating larger paychecks for the media hogs. In broadcasting there is no such thing as bad publicity. The more muck and mire the Shultz pulls out of the Republican sewage lagoon the more willing his promoters and sponsors are to shovel money his direction. The stronger the stench Limbaugh blows down to the meek the better his profits.
You don’t go to a women’s roller derby to look at the grace in which they can skate! You go to see them knock each other down, pull hair and knock the crap out of each other. Same with talk radio or politico television shows. If it is soft boiled it belongs on PBS with Lieberman.

    • September 25, 2009 9:13 am

Casey, Rag-tag whining? Insofar as you believe a nonpartisan stance is beneficial, how does an American citizen voice concern, complaint, disagreement, or praise if not to point out the issue and the probable direct-line cause of the issue?

All political parties are not equal. Nor are people. Nor are the hosts of talk radio.

      Your supposition is ludicrious.

Consequences are a direct result of actions that are, unfortunately, traceable to individuals, businesses, and governments. Wrong is wrong. Yes, Bush has had his flaws and was directly responsible for TARP with Paulson. However, Obama, who loves to BLAME Bush for everything, did indeed run for the presidential position with a Hope-N-Change platform. Well, how many BILLIONS has Obama added to the U.S. Debt pile in less than a year? Can we afford this nut?

With Obama, he ran on Hope. I see no hope. And the change he wants is radical, far-left, and NOT what our Constitution protects Americans for. We The People are NOT Marxists.

Conservative leadership has never created such a reactionary state in our Nation. Conservative talk radio has never had so many listeners. Fair and balanced FOX NEWS has never been so well viewed. Conservative best sellers have never seen such success rates.

Still think it’s “the same” on both sides?

Have you not heard the 400% increase in assassination attempts since Obama took office?

Then there are the very recent terrorist plots that have only been learned in the past month or so.

Then there are the crooks and commies who were publicized and Obama threw them under his bus….

Oh, and let’s not forget the illustrious ACORN.

Or Soros. And the enormous money trail that will link Obama to ACORN, Tides, Soros.

So, go ahead and believe your nonsense. But don’t further your dialogue on the similarities of conservative versus loon talk radio, or the GOP and the “Democrats”. And just try and say that Bush and Obama are the same. Or Schultz is another Limbaugh. Or MSNBC is like FOX.

SHOW ME FACTUAL COMPARISONS because the reality is Conservatives win. The Nation is center to center-right, not left. The far-left hasn’t got squat in ratings, profit numbers, or sanity.

You only delude yourself and those lemmings who you associate with. And the facts, the only facts you have, are your limited ‘arguments’ here when you troll.

LYNN, This constitution you like is based on a liberal system of government which supposes that we as americans would reach the left end of the spectrum eventually. The question is how fast. The so-called Right is the force that says not so fast and the so-called left want it faster. Ask any constitutional scholar.

        • September 25, 2009 4:54 pm

Kenneth I have no idea where you have pulled your statements from. But IF you believe the Constitution is based on a liberal system of government, perhaps you could provide the footnote used to reference it. The Constitution I know does not fit with your take.

Conservatives and Constitutional preservationists are not a ‘force’ that decry the speed in which certain interpreters are trying to test or destroy the document. In fact, they reference the Constitution LITERALLY. Speed has no bearing.

The “so-called left” wants to remove the Constitution as it stands. A number of them want to massage it, reinterpret it, and swap out our citizen rights for a “modern” and perceived version that aligns with their warped visions.

I need not ask some “constitutional scholar”. For one, Obama claims he is one. Laughable.

The Constitutional scholars are our Founding Fathers. They represent our Nation’s most valued document. And Obama, even in his self-glory, will never stand up against the principles and strengths of the Constitution’s authors.

          • September 25, 2009 5:33 pm

That’s a logical fallacy. It’s assumptive. As a liberal document you are correct. This is only the case when the term liberal is accurately applied. You see, the term liberal in this country is improperly used, and has been for quite some time. Leftists are in no way liberal. The term was stolen from those who support small government and the freedom to and from philosophy. Applied correctly, this is a liberal blog because of that. Don’t let your revised, progressive education cloud your logic. Open your mind.

    Hello,
What does everybody think that the company that he works for is all about? He works for MSNBC-or as Mark Levin calls it MSLSD. Ladies and gentlemen we have a problem here, and that problem is nobody listens to this network anymore. They have become so irrelevant that they have to make up stories to fit there audience, and if you ask me they have some of the most mind numb drones out there that I ahve ever seen. take a gander of who they have working there. CHRISSY-BOY MATTHEWS-(WHO GETS A THRILL UP HIS LEG WHEN HIS BUDDY SPEAKS), THEN YOU HAVE THAT POLITICAL HACK KEITHY-BOY-(OVER-BITE), AND THEN YOU HAVE THIS NUM-NUTS ED-(I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE TRUTH)-SCHULTZ. wOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. THEY ARE SO FAR-LEFT IN THERE SHOWS NOBODY CARES ABOUT THEM ANYMORE EXCEPT A HANDFUL OF DRONES, AMD I THINK THE BEST WAY TO TELL TEH STORY IS TO LOOK AT THE RATINGS, AND YOU CAN SEE HOW BAD THEY REALLY ARE. Also if I am not wrong they are the ones that incorrectly spoke about a man that was carry a gun at a protest when the President came to Phoenix Arizona. Now if I am not mistaken they ncorrectly said that the man with the rifle was a white-man, and that was a blatant lie, and MSNBC is very good at that. So with that being said PLEASE RAISE YOUR RIGHT HAND IF YOU BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT THESE MORONS SAY IS FACTUAL?

Yes, Chavez (leftist), Castro (Leftist), the list keeps going. You seem to support them (or those that support them). How is it you find yourself on the right side of the Lord? If you truly believe ONE word of Christs’ teachings you most definitely cannot support these people or their policies. What Kenneth Thompson and his ilk do not understand is that it is mainly democraps that have just about destroyed the family in this nation. At5 one point the black family was the anchor and as strong as any in the world and along comes Johnson and the great society and now the black family is practically destroyed The white famlies were badly damaged as well but nothing like to the degree these social programs devastated the black comunity. With seven out of ten children being born with out a father in the home and three out of five young black males involved with the justice system in some manner either locked up on parole or probation or awaiting abjudication. Dear God I will never understand why any black person would ever vote for a democrat.

    • September 25, 2009 1:11 pm

Jack. If you need to blame a political party for what’s wrong with “black Folks” some of it could be placed on the old democratic party. Some could be placed on the republican party. But I can’t let “black folks” off that easily. If there are any failures with the black family it’s the black family which is to blame. The FBI under Hoover created a mess with the black family when it went after law abiding community activists because the goal then was to keep the black community unbalanced and under-represented. I agree government has damaged the black family but not any one polital party. However, the black community need to take responsibility for any aspect of it’s community and do something about it.

    iaKenneth,
You continue the Progressive’s myth of if we can just throw more money at the problem then we can fix it. This has not worked and will never work. Labeling Republicans as being non-caring and basically useless obstructionists in OUR country is infantile and behavior that is seen among those with limited understanding of how this country began and the struggles that all Americans have had in order for all of us to be called Americans. The conservative philosophy of devotion to family, and G_d (Swemson, I know, Oay), respect of one another, get an education, work hard, be trustworthy with your word (I just had to throw this in to draw emphasis to the Repubs and Demos in Washington), be a useful part of society and give back what you can to others that are less fortunate. Characterizing Republicans as non-caring in not born out by history. Conservatives donate 4 dollars for every 1 from a liberal. Slavery was ended by a Republican. Those KKK member’s under the white robes are democrats (just talk with a southern democrat). Everyone in this country has a part to play in the growth and security of all. It is not my job to grant happiness,a house, medical care, a free college education and a chicken in every pot, but I will defend your right to pursue it. There are both Republican and Democratic politicians that not only do not represent the people and act contrary to the will of the people, but have lost all commonsense and have kicked integrity to the curb. The rebuilding of the family, restortation of a foundation of sound education in our schools is a good start. You need to get out more. Conservatives are not demonic.Spend time with conservatives. You may actually have to admit that we have a lot in common.

    • September 25, 2009 1:21 pm

I spent a lot of time with conservatives and I can only agree on this: not all of them are demented. The so-called leadership would give one the impression that they are. Why are the “good’ conservatives allowing themselves to be represented by the obvious lying, at times unpatriotic, and hate mongering? I have a friend who is conservative and during the Bush era invited me to attend their meeting and a few of their socials. When Bush went after Iraq he thanked me for my service at an event and started ranting about how he supported the war effort against Iraq. I told him if he wanted to thank me for my service to put on a uniform and go fight that war he was so determined about. His reply was, “No not me.” That happened in Texas.

    Jack,
Professor Sowell often refers to the Democratic Party as the “original plantation owners” when he references that partie’s continued platform of family destruction through social programs that remove the father from the home and reinforce government dependence and the denial of self-reliance, the paternalistic overseer demands of with holding life needs unless obedience is openly demonstrated and displayed.

This is typical of what one pitcher throwing a baseball at the head of a big hitter and the other pitcher retaliating. The Neocons have got so popular with their propaganda as news the Democrats have to have their balance. It is in this case better than nothing. When you have a Republican Party out of control with Karl Rovism and unwilling to pull it back there needs to be balance. Instead of the FCC sticking it’s nose in and telling them they can’t do this anymore it will of course get worse. Bush and Cheney used the FCC Muscle. But public opinion kept programs like Colbert’s and Stewart’s because of the truth factor. Guys like O’Reily would have been crucified if he were a Democrat for his Sexual Harassment. But FOX was making the bucks they paid off and let him continue. And that is the reason we are here now. News is now entertainment without a disclaimer. It feeds the minds of voters and voters to be with propaganda to elect those who allow this crap. Wake up America. This makes an Atom Bomb look like a toy.
