Obama’s political affairs director tied to ACORN

September 29, 2009

Patrick Gaspard, President Obama's political affairs advisor

Patrick Gaspard, President Obama's political affairs advisor

Poor Barack Obama. During the President’s recent Sunday morning TV interview circuit, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos was the only questioner ill-mannered enough to ask “The One” a substantive question about the recent House and Senate votes to cut off all federal funding to Obama’s former employer, scandal-plagued ACORN. In response, our ever-genial President politely told the pesky Stephanopoulos that the ACORN scandals — though deemed matters of mighty urgency by both houses of Congress  — weren’t even on his radar, consumed as he was with the truly serious concerns confronting him. “George,” Obama lectured, “this is not the biggest issue facing the country. It’s not something I’m paying a lot of attention to.”

That’s right. Barack Obama is a busy, important man with many weighty matters on his mind. Thus it was the height of unfairness last night for Fox News’ Sean Hannity to call into question the President’s selection of Patrick Gaspard, a longtime high-level ACORN official, as his political affairs director … and as an advisory board member for his White House transition team before that … and as the political director of his 2008 presidential campaign before that.

After all, how could Obama possibly have known that Gaspard was the former New York political director for ACORN? And how could our busy, important President have realized that Gaspard also worked for an ACORN appendage known as the Working Families Party, an outgrowth of the socialist New Party that had endorsed Obama for the Illinois state senate in 1996? Repeat after me:

Only a racist would worry about pro-socialist ACORN operatives gaining a foothold inside the White House and the President’s inner circle. Only a racist would worry about pro-socialist ACORN operatives gaining a foothold inside the White House and the President’s inner circle …

Moreover, we can rest assured that Gaspard’s ties to ACORN are irrelevant in this case because Obama seems largely unaware of ACORN’s activities and agendas. After all, he scarcely appears to know how the group is structured, what it does, or how it is funded. “I didn’t even know that ACORN was gettin’ a whole lot of federal money,” he told Stephanopoulos with wide-eyed innocence.

Sure, bloggers and Internet readers from coast to coast may be well aware of the $53 million in federal funds ACORN has received in recent years, but they aren’t occupied with having to think about all the important things that Barack Obama must contemplate every day. And sure, radio talk-show audiences may know that as a result of Obama’s stimulus package, ACORN was eligible to dip its fingers into an $8.5 billion slush fund for leftwing community organizations. But how could a busy man like Barack Obama have known this? He likely thought ACORN members raised money by selflessly selling their bodily organs on behalf of low-income families.

So what, that beginning in the mid-1980s Obama worked with ACORN, and later with its affiliate voter-mobilization arm Project Vote? So what, that Obama was the attorney for ACORN’s lead election-law cases in the 1990s? So what, that he worked as a trainer at ACORN’s annual conferences, where he taught members of the organization the art of radical community organizing? So what, that in 2007 he told a gathering of ACORN members that he had been “fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career”? So what, that in 2008 his presidential campaign gave more than $800,000 to the ACORN front group “Citizens’ Services Inc.” to fund voter-registration efforts? And so what, that at a community organizers’ campaign forum in 2007 he proclaimed:

“[B]efore I even get inaugurated, during the transition we’re gonna be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda … so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America”?

Obama was much younger when he said that — scarcely 46 years old. No one should hold him accountable for anything he said way back then. Repeat after me:

Patrick Gaspard’s ties to ACORN are irrelevant. Patrick Gaspard’s ties to ACORN are irrelevant. Patrick Gaspard’s ties to ACORN are irrelevant …

Wow, I guess he’s right. Nothing to see here….move along people. Oh, by the way, ignore the stories you’ve heard. You had a long ride. Everyone pack into these “showers” and breathe deeply…

You couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried!
The arrogance it takes to believe you are above accountability is mind blowing.

    politicalmoxie comment is spot on.

Every day what we read and hear is saturated with corruption within this administration. Rangel, Pelosi, Durbin, Dodd, etc etc.

Yet nothing is resolved. Business as usual.

I sit here typing with one hand on the keyboard and the other with my forehead in the palm. I can’t find any more duct tape to keep my head from exploding.

It’s kind of like digging a hole in the sand, your up to your neck, and MSM is stand at the top of the hole, looking down, with their hands in each others pockets.

He was elected; he knows “we’re” stupid…….maybe not the ‘we’ here but…….you know what I mean.

The ‘Man’ born to lie: His name is Obama bin-Lyi’n, he has many faces and each face has a different personality. When we get under the skin and look closely at the character, what do we find? Acorns stamped all over from head to foot. This man is definitely not good White House material.

Robbie Qualls is right, “O” thinks we’re stupid, and we are, or else we would not have elected him to the White House. But when you look at the choice we had at the time, it was a lose/lose situation.

Are we going to have another lousy pair of choices next election? I don’t see anyone on the horizon that has the ability to articulate the common sense and conservatism that people want to hear about — yet. I’m praying for a leader that can galvanize us and lead us out of this mess.

Of course ACORN isn’t important, he’s in Copenhagen, talking about the Olympics in Chicago. Don’t you realize that Chigaco is more important than Iran firing missiles, or Illegal Aliens killing cops, or breaking treaties with NATO, or even Afghanistan?

What’s important for President Obama is for people to worship him and make him feel like God. The man is meglomaniac.

Just replace Oz with Obama and you get the picture.

“The higher they go, the farther they fall…”

I think that justice (karmic, at least) will prevail. If this fraud isn’t eventually run out of town on the rails and/or tarred & feathered and/or put in stocks & pilloried – or a similarly humiliating punishment – I’ll be surprised! Historians are already taking copious notes – and the “wise ones” will definitely use all this to underscore what a turbulent time we are living through. I blame Bush – if only because he “greased the skids” for this imposter!

BTW, for years the word “ACORN” will have such a pejorative meaning that even squirrels will hesitate to accumulate those goodies for winter!

      Now that’s funny!
