Media Matters mocks heavily armed man who hunts his own food and may be insane

October 1, 2009

That’s right: Media Matters is now going after… Ted Nugent.

Today the Media Matters website proclaims: “Nugent jumps on Beck bandwagon: Obama and Carter the “real racists” who “have been destroying black America for decades”

Then, using their patent-pending “clever leftist rhetorical trick” technology, “senior fellows” at Media Matters today cut and paste excerpts from something the “Motor City Madman” just wrote for Human Events.

And then they don’t offer any counter-arguments.

Devastating, huh?

To Media Matters, it would be self-evident to any right-thinking person of goodwill that the following statements by the legendary guitar hero are patently absurd:

The Democrats know that without the support of black Americans, their political party is doomed — at least until they can addict the immigrants who have arrived over our southern border. Get them dependent on Fedzilla handouts, and the Democrats believe they can own their votes.

Meanwhile, the condition of black America continues to erode because our government keeps it so. How sad. How totally unnecessary.

You don’t need to be an historian to see who the real racists are in America.  Jimmy Boy [Jimmy Carter], Barry O [Barack Obama] and others have been destroying black America for decades for their votes.  That’s the ugliest side of racism.

Indeed, the Democrats’ so-called “War On Poverty” was such an obvious failure, and did so much damage to generations of African-Americans, that Democratic President Bill Clinton set about dismantling the welfare system.

As John Perazzo has thoroughly documented, using footnotes and everything (as opposed to, say, just quoting people he doesn’t like):

But if we use President Johnson’s own stated goals as a measure of the War on Poverty’s effectiveness, we can only conclude that the undertaking was a monstrous failure. Dependency on the government did not decline, but skyrocketed. Between the mid-Sixties and the mid-Seventies, the dollar value of public housing rose nearly fivefold and the amount spent on food stamps rose more than tenfold. From 1965 to 1969, government-provided benefits increased by a factor of 8; by 1974 such benefits were an astounding 20 times higher than they had been in 1965. Also as of 1974, federal spending on social welfare programs amounted to 16 percent of America’s GNP, a far cry from the 8 percent figure of 1960. By 1977 the number of people receiving public assistance had more than doubled since 1960.159 By 1994 the number stood at about 5 million, five times the 1965 figure.

Writes Walter E. Williams [who happens to be black]: “Racial discrimination has nothing to do with what’s no less than an education meltdown within the black community. Where black education is the very worst, often the city mayor is black, city council dominated by blacks, and often the school superintendent is black, as well as most of the principals and teachers, and Democrats have run the cities for decades. I’m not saying there’s a causal connection, just that one would be hard put to chalk up the rotten education to racial discrimination.”

Even more troubling is the spectacle of African-American Democrats using racist language to insult blacks who don’t toe the party line. Some examples from the Discover the Networks archive:

* In 2002, NAACP chairman Julian Bond referred to Ward Connerly, a black California Board of Regents member who had led the fight to end affirmative action in California’s public sector, as a “fraud” and a “con man.”249 Bond likened black conservatives in general to “ventriloquists’ dummies” who “speak in their puppet-master’s voice.”

*  Jesse Jackson has called Connerly a “house slave” and a “puppet of the white man.”251 He also has condemned Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s vote to place limits on affirmative action programs, characterizing Thomas as an “enem[y] of civil rights” and likening his black judicial robes to the white sheets of Klansmen.

* The late columnist Carl Rowan sarcastically suggested, “If you give Thomas a little flour on his face, you’d think you had [former Klansman] David Duke.”

* San Francisco mayor Willie Brown called Thomas not only “a shill and cover for the most insidious form of racism,”254 but also a man whose views are “legitimizing of the Ku Klux Klan.”255 Brown added that Thomas “should be reduced to talking only to white conservatives,” and “must be shut out” by the black community.

By the way: that part in the Media Matters headline about Nugent “jumping on the Glenn Beck bandwagon”? Nugent doesn’t mention Beck once in the column in question. Someone’s fixated on Beck, but I don’t think it’s the Motor City Madman.

Ted Nugent registers pretty high on the Left’s hate-o-meter. Doing a search on the leftwing blogs will confirm this I think. Sure he’s conservative, but what really gripes the Left is that Nugent embraces life with gusto and enjoys every moment. I’ve heard several radio interviews with him and he’s more alive than every blogger on Democratic Underground combined. They seethe with resentment and the Nuge loves it.

Although I will concede that Nugent often veers into hyperbole to get his point across, none of the above-referenced statements exhibit that. Ted is simply stating well-established facts which leftists can’t acknowledge, as those facts undermine their entire media-supported facade. David Horowitz has repeatedly made essentially the same case – in much greater detail – that Democrats’ total control of every major city in America over the last 50 years has produced an epidemic of poverty and misery in the black community. Democrats are indeed the real racists, as they can see the results of their policies as well as we can. Rather than acknowledge their failures and overhaul their strategy however, they exploit the plight of minorities, including blacks to further their own political agenda. It’s no overstatement to say that Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others of their ilk – vile race pimps – WANT to keep blacks in a subjugated condition in order to continue to enrich themselves. It’s as clear as the light of day, but Republicans remain, inexplicably, terrified to call things by their right names and flatly state that it is leftist Democrats who have their boots on the necks of black people in the inner city. Until Republicans have the guts to aggressively and continuously point this out, they will continue to lose elections.

“Republicans remain, inexplicably, terrified to call things by their right names”

Exactly, Mark. That is THE problem in one sentence. We need to stop accepting the Left’s premises and tactics and going along with “political correctness” and their disingenuous calls for “bipartisanship” and “civility.”

Let’s go a little crazier and stop using the words “political correct” and call it “Unnesessary politeness”!

The left’s opposition, conservatives and independents, unwillingness to expose the ugly underbelly of the Demoncratic Party, has more to do with fear, fear of the MGMSM power of the invective and pejorative!
The ghost of Saul Alinsky lives in the very soul of the current MGMSM political and social mavens. No one hardly ‘reports’ the news anymore, they all ‘discuss’ the news. Give opinions on, and bloviate into the stratosphere diametrically opposed distractions that really don’t rate the time of day. That along with salacious drivel topped off with a smidgen of gut wrenching violence, and it’s no wonder Republicans or anyone else not in the ‘favor’ the MGMSM run for cover every time it looks like they might be attacked by said media!
It is the media we need to transform first then we can rescue the the rest of the country from the puny gaggle of socialists who failed to get the ’60s and ’70s dissolution revolution kick-started!
The ones circling around Barry O for instance!

Ted even has his own personal troll on YouTube.

Go to virtually any video that has Ted in it and you will see the same cut/paste comments. Even the vids of some kid who is really proud of his “Guitar Hero” Cat Scratch Fever score.

If you dare to challenge him, he won’t answer you in the video comments, he just copy/pastes 14!!! comments to your YouTube page.

I need a personal troll. Where can I get one;-?

    Go get em Uncle Ted!

Terrible Ted is ‘the’ major irritant to one special sector of liberal lunacy, the entertainment and media industry. These folks all think it’s chic to be socialist or flit around in a Che t-shirt, it’s cool to be a communist in these wacko’s fairy land. In contrast these peace loving Lear-jet liberals turn into rabid frothing pit bulls when you call into or try to question their misguided beliefs.
So you can imagine their angst and anger, when a well known celebrity of international stature calls them ALL out the carpet for what they really are, instead of what they portray for the camera!

Dr. Sowell has written volumes on the steps the Progressive movement must initially take in order to advance to the cause toward the end goal of totarian utopia. One of the inital steps was to destroy the black family by forcing fathers out of the home. This left the family powerless, disorganized and dependent upon the government for their very life. The second goal was to eliminate self-initiative, independent/autonomous thought, independence and self-esteem through the elimination or marginalizing faith/religion and it’s place in the family. When Joseph Califano was part of the Lyndon Johnson study of the ” war on poverty”, he concluded the same, and that within 3 generations, the dependence of families on the government became “institutionalized” and virtually impossible to break the cycle of the government-induced poverty. ” And, speaking of the Nuge, he is the Progressives worst nightmare. He maintains a positive, truthful, in your face attitude and they can’t stand someone that doesn’t backdown to their name calling and attempts to stop dissent. Standing firm, being well-informed, truthful and agressive is the sword that will stop the Progressive movement.

    Ted Nugent for President 2012!!!

Uncle Ted is nearly everything the Left hates – he has been successfully as the result of his personal efforts, he is not only not depenedent on the Goobermint but is very willing to tell them what he thinks, he is a REAL conservationist (not some drive-by flag waver) who understands what works outside of the city, and he has enough media coverage to be a pain in their sides. Just what left hates, an intelligent person willing to say NO to the Marxist plans.

    Go get ’em Ted!!!

You took the words right out of my mouth….
Speaking of mouths’….I admire Ted’s efforts in creating an organization to “feed the hungry” in Michigan simply titleds, “Sportsmen Against Hunger (MSAH).”
His wife has created an org. that honors American Heros, who fight for our freedom. It’s called “Freedom’s Angels'” and is dedicated to enhancing the lives of military men and their families.
      God Bless Ted, and America!
