The Political Equivalents of “Nigger”

October 12, 2009

mark_lloyd

This evening, Bill O’Reilly discussed the White House attack on FoxNews as a Republican mouthpiece. My friend Ron Radosh has a good blog defending Fox here, although he takes some ridiculous and baseless swipes at Glenn Beck in doing so.

O’Reilly correctly pointed out that this was a stupid strategy from a normal political point of view since it would alienate Fox viewers who were independent and could see the charge was absurd and make up their own minds. Juan Williams, Mary Ham and Bernie Goldberg all agreed. Fair enough. But this is not a normal political strategy. It’s the kind of leftist strategy that is the m.o. of the Obama Administration.

By repeating as often as possible the lie that Fox News is biased, the White House is softening up the public to accept its future attack on Fox as “lacking diversity”  and therefore in need of government intervention. The redoutable Glenn Beck has flushed out this strategy whose general is the FCC “diversity commissioner” Mark Lloyd.

I call this tactic — which is the main strategy of the left — the “political equivalent of “nigger.” The term “nigger” as everyone knows was used to dehumanize blacks and exclude them from decent society and therefore from the respect and rights normally accorded to members of decent society. The terms “racist,” “sexist,” “homophobe,” and now “Islamophobe” are all used that way by the left. If Fox is biased, it is socially diseased and has to be cured — which Mark Lloyd will be happy to do.

O’Reilly followed this with a segment on Rush Limbaugh’s bid to buy the St. Louis Rams and the objection to his ownership because he’s “controversial.” Drew Sharp, a black reporter for the Detroit Free Press, took up the cudgels against Limbaugh, accusing him of making “racially tinged” statements. In other words, racist (which is the equivalent for whites of “nigger”). O’Reilly asked for the evidence, and Sharp came up with two examples, both of them based on nothing, as O’Reilly demonstrated. So Sharp fell back on another term “controversial.” If you’re controversial, the NFL is justified in excluding you. In the hands of the left, “controversial” is another equivalent of “nigger” — not fit for decent society.

As I’ve pointed out many times, the Left is at war, and in a war you have to eliminate the enemy or neutralize him by making him as good as dead. Therefore the Left follows (religiously) Lenin’s precept that the purpose of a political argument “is not to refute the opponent but to wipe him from the face of the earth.”

This looks like the typical totalitarian mentality that so often comes out of the left. The casual observer may wonder how they manage to get away with such blatantly fascist tactics. To coin a familiar Abraham Lincoln quote, all a tyrant needs to succeed is “fool enough of the people enough of the time.”

If Fox News is a mouthpiece for the Republicans, then the mainstream media is lip-gloss for the Democrats. There’s precedent for this. The last time a Democrat was high sheriff in the Oval Office, we all know whose lips glossed what.

    Plus ça change…

I loved Rush’s retort: “I’m not controversial. Everybody who listens to me agrees with me.” (LOL!) It’s only people who have NEVER listened to him who think he’s all those negative adjectives stated above.

People, we are not playing fair! The left has been telling unsubstantial lies about the right for years and we just ignored them. (perhaps this is one of the causes of president ‘0’?) Now that we are finally getting off our butts the left is in a panic. We are calling their bluffs and they don’t like it. So expect even more dirty dealings. Be more aware and arm yourself with facts! Slap them down and to hell with any Bi-partisanship. I mean, look how well being bi-partisan work out for Mc Cain.

David Horowitz complains about his friend, Ron Radosh, smearing Glenn Beck?

Mr. Radosh smears Sen. McCarthy (wis) and the 50s anti Communists the same way. And why does he do it?

Ann Coulter provided the answer: to get back in good graces with his old lefty buddies for writing a politically incorrect book about the Rosenbergs.

    • October 13, 2009 6:47 am

This is an absolutely absurd and offensive smear against one of the most thoughtful, insightful conservative intellectuals writing today. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

If Radosh was wanting to “get back in good graces with his old lefty buddies” he wouldn’t be writing for Pajamas Media and associating with Horowitz. He’d be boosting Obama and writing for leftist publications.

You’re just looking for a conspiracist-minded excuse to allow you to dismiss a conservative whose views are less dogmatic than yours.

Compare Horowitz’ rebuttal of Radash concerning Glenn Beck to your rebuttal of Underzog here concerning Radash. Night and day.

I assume your assessment extends to Ann Coulter too?

I think the point being made about Radash is that he might lapse into the template of liberal sacred cows in regards to revised histories, such as McCarthy’s life. This is a problem that pervades on our side. We keep appeasing, even as we postulate the hazards of the Neville Chamberlain approach to problems.

        • October 14, 2009 7:21 pm

Perhaps I was overly harsh. I have a lot of respect and affection for Radosh and I resent the suggestion that he’s being intellectually dishonest out of some attempt to get in with leftist colleagues who rejected him long ago. I consider it an insult to Radosh’s character and intellect.

It will be interesting to see what reactions from the left this headline gets. And the explanation for its usage that is contained in the subsequent text. I bet it won’t be considered in context.

Limbaugh’s attempt to be part-owner of the St. Louis Rams has the left in a tither. Does the name Mark Cuban ring a bell? Talk about a left winged idiot! Does anyone care on the left that Cuban would underwrite a movie that was totally biased and untrue? Nooooo, they don’t. In fact they support his “free-speech rights.” Rev. Al, who needs to always project his self-identy for fear of loosing his relevance, is the wrong one to be carrying the anti-Rush bucket of BS. He should of gotten Mcnabb to help or some other black leader. Who was Obama’s reverend? Oh yeh, pastor Wright. Get him on board and really make a mess of it.

This line, “If Fox is biased, it is socially diseased and has to be cured …” reminded me of a huge sign that was pasted into the window of a car in Seattle. The sign read, “REPUBLICANS are a DISEASE.” It was a good 1’x2′ in size and filled at least a quarter of the rear windows area. The fool who had that was clueless to its totalitarian implications and the fact that he had, in essence, posted a threat against a huge portion of the American people.

And what kind of car was this totalitarian Democrat driving?

A BMW 740i – a luxury car that this Republican could not come close to affording.

It saddens me to think that, with this kind of rhetoric blithely bandied about by radical leftists, this country is sitting on a powderkeg that could go off at almost any time.

It was only a matter of time before the Socialistas in the WH adopted the Communist approach to dealing with dissenters. What’s next, concentration camps? Hugo Chavez must be ‘O’s’ “News Czar”. The American people better wake up, and do it soon. Do we all remember when the White House wanted us to spy on each other and report anything “fishy”?

White House Communications Director Anita Dunn’s statements echo ideas already held by President Obama. These are opening shots across the bow. Fox, either, gets behind the President, or the Diversity Czar and the FCC will attack with regulations that will force Fox into line. Freedom of speech and press are essential for a democratic society to survive. However, I doubt that the survival of such rights is important to Obama. In fact, they work against his agenda of knowing what is best for us. We are not to question his wisdom because we are too stupid to know better. We were stupid. We did not investigate the candidate Obama or those surrounding him. We followed the script to the letter despite evidence that should have raised red flags. I hope Fox will continue to fight. Should they fail, talk radio and forums like this will be next. Then Czar Llyod can say that he duplicated Chavez’s fantastic efforts against the Venezuelan free press and receive the praise from his comrade-in-chief.

That’s the point. The Left wants nothing to do with Mr. Radosh. I don’t know when he’ll get it through his head that “the Daily Kos”;etc., and the leftwing universities will not take him no matter how much he smears dead patriots such as McCarthy or living patriots such as M. Stanton Evans.

We are sitting on a powder keg you can be sure of that and the search and destroy manner that the left employs as described by MR.Horowitz is the very reason. People are beginning to see you cannot reason with them. That is one of the reasons I keep asking, Can we find common ground with these people?

No Jack, I don’t think so. And that is by THEIR decision, not of conservatives. It started with the 68 riots and hasn’t abatted since. They told us “first trimester only” during the Roe V. Wade debates, and now we are in full scale infanticide. They told us “free expression” when it came to Larry Flynt and being able to undermine the morality of our culture. They told us “free speech” when it came to defending the draft card burning and the torching of ROTC buildings.

When was the last time you heard a Democrat talk about “free speech?”

There are strong undercurrents in this country that are COMPLETELY off the radar screens of your average white conservative, who are BLIND to what is going on under their very noses. There is a growing contingent of radical black nationalism aligned with Islam, fueled by the radical curriculums being taught to in the blacks-only colleges. Many black professors are openly calling for genocidal activities in their classrooms and other forums. Inner city community organizers are radicalizing blacks through NGOs like ACORN.

An unspoken truth is that many of the black on white crimes in this country, particularly rapes, are politically or philosophically motivated, not merely crimes of impulse or incivility. Many of these rapes amount to nothing more than sexual lynchings.

I would bet you read, Soul On Ice ( Aldridge Clever) Jonathan you are right on the mark in your comment to a great degree. What I would like to understand is and there is no racism involved in this is why some white women and the left are attracted to this radicalism despite the fact that Clever openly stated he wanted to destroy the idea of white motherhood? Like the two white women that died in the shoot out with the Sibyonise Liberation Army in L.A.

Because the left is obsessed with the idea of destroying Judeo-Christian culture and all its manifestations, which it links to European-white imperialistic behavior against other cultures. This culture in the minds of the left is all that stands in the way of establishing a one world community based on secular humanism and socialist principles.

The fact that so many whites are active or complicit in this effort, and are so blind to what is being foisted upon them, is because they are completely disconnected from where they came from. And that is by design.

Heck, I think a great many of us are disillusioned with materialism and the culture of plastic. But, that’s not the fault of the culture we are destroying. It’s the fault of the culture that is DOING the destroying, ironically.

Socialism is complete bullshi* from start to finish. Cultural Marxism is death.

I think all the news networks have their own agenda. Fox news supports the republicans. Anyone that says otherwise is not being intellectually honest. I don’t know how you can call yourself ‘fair and balanced’ when you criticize one side 95% of the time and the other side 5% of the time.

I used to listen to Rush 20 years ago, back then he made some sense. Today he is just trying to keep the money train rolling in to the station. I guess if someone gave me $50 million a year to spout the same kind of nonsense Rush does then I would do the same and laugh all the way to the bank. Rush has drawn the blueprint for making money on right wing talk radio. There are many trying to get on that bandwagon.

If Rush wants to buy the Rams I don’t see any reason why he shouldn’t be allowed. Actually, I always thought money talked and bs walked.

It’s hard to find unbiased reporting on any of the networks any more. It seems that each is pandering to a segment, Fox is no exception. It seems that as long as we continue to argue about left vs right we pay less attention to the issues that affect us the most!

    • October 13, 2009 6:46 pm

David – Where do you get the 95% – 5% number? Even Media Matters doesn’t skew the numbers that much do they?

Let’s examine reality. Fox news consistently dominates all the other cable news outlets. Why do you think that is? Rush dominates the radio airwaves. Why is that? And BTW, no one gives him a dime to “spout” anything. That’s not how broadcasting works.

I will agree that all news networks, cable or otherwise, have an agenda. Fox’s agenda is simply a commercial one: To deliver a quality product that attracts an audience and brings in sponsors. Their numbers demonstrate that they’ve been very successful. All the other news networks have an agenda too. Theirs is to prop up the left and marginalize the right. It’s a defective strategy that’s created a defective product. Their poor numbers are there for all to see.

But in either case, there’s no pandering involved.

I am honest and I disagree with your comment. FOX is fair in it’s news reporting for the most part. Bret Bair is an example. You have to seperate news reporting from comentary. People like Hannity makes no bones about the fact he supports the GOP. Bill O’really likes to refer to himself as a traditionalist and an Independent. Bill grew up in a working class neighborhood and I believe he still desires acceptance from the swells as he refers to them in his books. I believe he bends over backward sometime to be fair but I still have a problem with his position on several issues one being the dreaded Global Warming and giving a platform to a racist and the supporter of cop killers. I might listen to Rush about twice a month and he sounds the same to me makes plenty of sense. He makes common sense which eludes some people.

Dude, if you think Glenn Beck supports the GOP, then you’re a few french fries short in your Happy Meal.

Fox is fair. That’s all there is to it. Look, the American people are smarter than any two-bit celebri-tard, or pundit or talking head or psuedo intellectual with a pop degree in leftist dogma from Harvard. The American people know the networks that are full of manure. And the ratings show it.

So, I say, it’s about time. The left dominated the media for years. Rush Limbaugh turned the tables, and it grew from there. And its going to keep going too.

Dictators throughout history all have one thing in common which the Obama supporting media apparently have not learned in world history. Once new government have achieved their goals and the elite are in place, those that fought for and supported the rise of a dictator were eliminated, particularly the media. A fervent supporter who turns and questions and becomes a critic is much more dangerous than someone who was a known critic. Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Chavez all took this elimination of “supporters” to avoid future embarrassing dissent to an horrifying level. I have many friends that are immigrates from Russia and they tell family stories of this and how even though family members supported Lenin, Stalin believing in the dream of hope and a utopia, once power was achieved they were rounded up and then disappeared. They had been useful tools and now could prove to be a potential big problem, so it was nipped in the bud. The methods were brutal with no thought of compassion. They were afterall just “things” with no real value beyond what the State assigned to them. Sound familiar? The Obama administration has internalized and perfected the “if you tell a lie often and loud enough, then it becomes the truth”. I am unsure of the exact wording, but, you get the point. The truth is only the truth if they say so.Ever read the book 1984??? (How many fingers am I holding up?).

Thank you Mr Horowitz for your culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant observations of the present culture war raging in our country. A secret behind the scenes war for the hearts and minds of the American politic. I say secret because the majority of the American public is being held in oblivion by the MGMSM and the current propaganda machine of the DNC, and the WHPO!

I and a dear friend of mine in the Bay Area have been on a mission to expose the duplicity of the MGMSM and it’s attendant flacks through one of our sites in particular, using the very word you used in the title. We gnaw on the tactics, the lies disguised as truth, and the underlying simmering hatred of the left of all things NOT leftist/socialist or in some cases hard core “line’em up against the wall and shoot’em” communists! (These people do exist. I have them in my own family unfortunately and it saddens me deeply that they have aligned themselves literally with Castro and Che’!)

You are much more “F & B” than FNC, BTW! I have been watching you since you first started FPM, even though I wandered away for awhile to concentrate on my own ventures;-) You have consistently presented verifiable factual evidence that cut deeper the core of the truth than even pompous Bill O;-)

I also love the new blog format site. I too have gone over exclusively to this format even though I am not a fan of ‘portrait format’ in a ‘landscape’ medium! It seems asinine to me but hey it works, eh! I am curious to know how your search engine metrics changed since you changed formats. I have compiled some eye opening data from our sites due to using the blog format and the WP platform! It’s kinda weird in some aspects;-)

Keep up the good work. Hope to one day meet and greet when I can afford to do so;-)

The real scary thing about all of this, does anyone really think Obama is going to give up the White House in 12 with a simple election loss?
It has been stated many times, the left is at war with we the Conservative. In war, there are casualities. Up until now it has been a character assasination war. How long before it becomes an actual WAR?

Only had time to browse this, but I agree with Dave. This is war.

When I listen to O’Reilly and Hannity and sometimes others, I think they don’t know what they are dealing with. The Left doesn’t play by the nicey pie rules we are used to. No, they are out to steal, kill, destroy all that we hold dear.

I so appreciate your having the cred to write this. Would that more people could “get it!!”

I, too, have observed the left firsthand in organizing meetings for a period of years in many different venues. They don’t care about your rules, Whitey.

This is about power. I have heard people say, It’s OK if it’s not true. It could be true so we will say so, as typical in the type of smears that Murtha brought against our brave soldiers, every one of whom I have known have been exquisitely honorable and restrained.

So, I pray for your continued health and prosperity. We must stand up for our beloved American way of life, or lose it!!
