Bookworm Expands on Horowitz’s Remarks on Chairman Mao

October 17, 2009

Bookworm had some great comments inspired by David Horowitz’s discussion of Maoism. After reproducing Horowitz’s comment Bookworm concurred:

My point exactly, and I’m going to wrap up here by quoting from language I used in a post explaining why it’s no excuse for Kevin Jennings (the “Safe Schools Czar”) that NAMBLA involvement is only a part of the Harry Hays gay rights mythology.  That post, incidentally, pre-dated the report about Dunn’s admiration for “Mao, the Philosopher.”

There comes a point when someone’s reprehensible side is so extreme that simple decency means that you can no longer hold that person up as an example because of his less reprehensible side.  To take extreme examples to make the point, we don’t use Hitler as a poster child for vegetarianism, Mao as a model for physical fitness through swimming, or Ted Bundy to make the point that clean-cut guys can get the girls.  Because reputation matters, when a person’s evil outweighs his good, we toss him from the role model pedestal.

Be sure and read all of her post.

Mao, a person whose evil outweighs his good, is held up as an example worthy of admiration by Anita Dunn. When Dunn speaks of her veneration of the murderous Mao as her role model, her tongue flicks in and out of her mouth. She looks rather like a serpent with its tongue darting about in the air.

Bookworm correctly surmises that decent folk never hold up evil as an example to be admired. Therefore, can we assume that Anita Dunn, with her serpent-like tongue darting and flicking about while speaking of her role model Mao, is not only decent, but – dare it be said – evil?

Her Tongue!! I wondered if anyone else noticed or if I was shallow and rude! She did remind me of a serprnt spouting a love affair with the murderer.

The last line should read, “…not only not decent, but – dare it be said – evil?”

There was a time when Democrats recognized evil when they saw it, and actually sided against it.

The few who still do, like Joe Lieberman, leave that party.

SOMEWHERE IN THE WHITEHOUSE BASEMENT PRES. OBAMA IS SMOKING A CIGARETTE AND LAUGHING HIS GUTS OUT. NO DOUBT HE”S REPLAYING THE VIDEO OF DUNN”S SPEACH TRYING TO COUNT HOW MANY TIMES THE SERPENTS TONGUE POPS OUT.
