A Spoonful of Saccharine: Alan Grayson Will Not Apologize, Will Compare Himself to Jesus

October 20, 2009

If you are among the (increasingly few) people who watch MSNBC, and in particular, the Rachel Maddow Show, you are no doubt aware that she frequently turns her program over to the Democrat celebrity du jour to use as a stump speech platform. Monday’s show was no different, with Special Guest Congressman-Star Alan Grayson attempting to shove his own feet farther into his mouth.

Grayson, you’ll remember, was a congressman who only became (in)famous when he declared that “Republicans want you to die quickly” and called health care in America a “Holocaust.” You would think that he would have the good grace to slink quietly away and never be heard from again, but, being the loony-leftist that he is, Grayson had to find the biggest stage he could and open his mouth again. This time, Grayson chooses to cast himself in the role of Jesus, and Republicans in the role of Judas. Or Jewish high priests. Or maybe the Roman officials. It’s hard to tell. The man is no Shakespeare when it comes to metaphors.

You can see the whole sorry spectacle unfold here.

But before handing her show over to be a live Alan Grayson press conference, Maddow herself took time to mock the Republican opposition to Rep. Grayson as being a bunch of nobodies. Because apparently Maddow, being the leftist champion of the “little man” that she is, think that you can only get to be a big, important comgressman if you are backed by the powerful Washington leftist elite to whom she kowtows daily.

She also tried to defend Grayson by playing the “Republicans are big ol’ meanies who say mean stuff too” card. Unfortunately, she doesn’t do too well in her listening (or reading) comprehension on this one. The Republican quotes she produced were these:

REP. GINNY BROWN-WAITE (R), FLORIDA: Last week, Democrats released a health care bill which essentially said to America’s seniors, “Drop dead.”

REP. STEVE KING (R), IOWA: And they’re going to save money by rationing care, getting you in a long line-places like Canada and United Kingdom and Europe, people die when they’re in line.

REP. LOUIE GOHMERT (R), TEXAS: One in five had people have to die because they went to socialized medicine.

What Republicans are speaking about are the very real provisions (at the time) in the “health reform” bill for end-of-life counseling, and the very real problem in Britain of people dying before the state-run hospitals can see them as patients. These Republicans were talking about real-life consequences of actual policies. Grayson’s attack amounted to “Republicans are evil people who wish evil on you.” Not the same thing, Rachel.

But that’s old news. Grayson had fun new quotes to provide this time. After a laughing interlude with Maddow in which he mocked his opponents (“Now four people know their names instead of two”) he offered up this gem:

“There’s nobody in the race right now who actually is known at all. But they’re not the ones I’m worried about. I’m worried about the national party. The National Republican Party spent over $2 million to keep me out of office last time, and now, according to the NRCC’s executive director, I’m their number one target and you know why. So, I can only imagine how much 30 pieces of silver they’re going to throw this time at the race.”

It’s pretty funny that Grayson, a man who himself was an utter unknown before shooting off his mouth got him national attention, would mock other people for being nobodies. But to compare himself to Jesus? And his opponent to Judas/the Sanhedrin/the Romans? Leaving aside the glaring grammatical deficiencies of “how much 30 pieces of silver,” clearly Grayson’s ego knows no bounds.

But of course, his ego is only as large as the leftist media will let it be, and with Maddow, Bill Maher, and Ed Schultz only too willing to turn their shows over to Grayson on a day-by-day basis, of course the man is going to get a huge ego. His ego is so large that he doesn’t even bother to hide what his real goals are. To quote Grayson, again from TRMS Monday night:

“Bipartisanship is a concept that’s become a weapon of mass distraction to keep us from actually doing what we need to do, to give people in this country universal health care.”

That’s right. Universal health care. Single-payer. Full-on socialized medicine. Think about that, the next time someone argues that ObamaCare isn’t a road to government-run health care. Look at what Democrats say when they let their guard down. Grayson isn’t the only one who thinks this way. He’s just the one who has such an inflated ego (and the microphones to go with it) at the moment that he thinks himself invulnernable enough to say it.

There has never been any doubt in my mind that the Democraps are trying to bring in a single payer government system as the do everything else a nip here and a bite there a piece at a time till you wake up one morning and we have a healthcare system like Canada. But look at the up side probably only a few dozen people watch her show including her family.

I hope Maddow continues to keep putting on gems like these. The more they’re on, the less people are going to know who they are due to MSNBC’s GREAT ratings.

The Democrats are trying to bring in a single payor system as well as a single thought system. As a nurse for the past 36 years I can tell you that by 2015 (2 years post Obamacare’s start) there will be an uproar in this country when everyone realizes that what they signed up to is not what they are getting. Americans are in for a shock. As a funny sidenote, today as I was getting into my car at a medical center parking lot, I saw a short, elderly lady exit her car and walk off towards the office building. A backed out and saw that she had 2 of those old “George Bush keep your hands off my Medicare” bumper stickers on her car. She had written in bold red “F__k Obama and his lies” over the Bush comment (she included the “uc” in the spelling). I could not believe my eyes. It was funny. Sounds like she voted for Obama and has had a change of heart.

Alan Grayson is so repulsive looking that I don’t know how on earth he has five children. His wife must have a bag over his head so she won’t have to look at HIM.

Have you seen her? I haven’t, I was just wondering. I can’t imagine she’s much.

It is people like ‘Mad Hatter’ Maddow, Keith ‘Ag School Grad’ Olberman and Chris ‘Tingle Thighs Over Bam Bam’ Matthews that are causing American Pravda Newspapers and TV to tank. They are heading for irrelavancy and are to “stuck on stupid” to realize it.

I was talking about HIM. No matter what she might look like, she’s got to be much better looking than her husband. That man is actually grotesque.

I fail to see how this post (orthe accompanying comments) have made even one valid point.

Furthermore Grayson NEVER compares himself to Jesus. You are making things up. Perhaps delusional?
