Chris Matthews Does Not Understand the Military

October 22, 2009

When my husband and I lived in West Berlin during the late 1970s, it was a common joke that if war broke out, the enemy would simply hang up POW signs. I really didn’t get the joke at the time. So my husband explained, “We are 110 miles inside communist country. All those armed guards stationed on the wall have to do is turn around and point their rifles toward our side.” Until that moment, I didn’t realize that the Berlin Wall was around us—not them.

My excuse for my simplistic view of the world was my youth. As a military wife living in an occupied city I caught on quickly–we weren’t in Kansas anymore.

The life of a soldier or police officer is so foreign to the Left that it falls into the Twilight Zone category. Chris Matthews, host of “Hardball” and Obama’s faithful shoeshine boy, proved that point in his recent interview with Stewart Rhodes, founder of Oath Keepers, when he asked Rhodes with a straight face, “What scenario do you live in?”

From the start, Matthews came at Rhodes, firing off statements and accusations disguised as questions.

A disabled paratrooper and a graduate of Yale Law School, where he not only won Yale’s Miller prize for best paper on the Bill of Rights, Rhodes also assisted in teaching U.S. military history. Nonetheless, Matthews painted him as a delusional militia recruiter.

After picking out only four of the orders Oath Keepers pledge not to obey, Matthews asked,

“Do you guys have the current fire power to stand up against the Federal Government if you people are ordered to do those things?”

Notice, Rhodes was obviously under the impression he was having an intelligent discussion and explained that they were calling on active military and police to stand by their oath, and simply stand down, and refuse to comply with unlawful orders.

Matthews: “I want to know about operations, I don’t care about your philosophy…”

“What I don’t like about people who are armed, who are being recruited to stand up in some operation, I want to know when you would call your forces together and challenge the authority of the U.S. Government.”

So much for his “Maybe I’m too normal” theory.

Rhodes: “We are trying to prevent this country from suffering the abuse and the violation of rights that has happened in other countries in recent history.”

Under the thin veil of questioning, Matthews used an array of rhetorical crayons to color Rhodes as paranoid and delusional.

Matthews: “How many hours a day do you worry about the constitution being undermined by Barrack Obama? Undermined. In other words your rights being taken away, concentration camps being formed, foreign troops being landed, the black helicopters stopping at a base near you. How many hours a day do you think about this probability, or plausibility? Sir. How many hours a day do you actually worry about this. Seriously.”

Matthews called in Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center to underscore his point. Instead, he highlighted mine.

The Left will never understand the life of military personnel, or their sense of duty and loyalty to America. Leftists will always see police as “pigs,” our military as “baby-killers,” and Mao as a great political leader. And yet, as long as we have honorable men and women willing to protect our Constitution and keep their oaths, The Wall will stay in ruins and our experiment in liberty will continue.

Which scenario do you live in?

I can’t stand Chris Matthews. He is a dunce and anything that comes out of his mouth is usually rude and ridiculous. He doesn’t let anyone answer the questions that he asks. It’s painful to watch him or his show so I turned him off a few years ago. He’s a fool.

This is why I am a writer. Even over a video link Mathews would drive me crazy!
I would not get past past 2:55 before simply telling him to “SHUT UP and try listening like a host instead of ranting like a Soviet judge denouncing a dissident!”

If he would not listen I would tell him two things.

The second would be “..and the horse you rode in on.”

If the guest(victim) had said that he would be thought crazy even by Conservatives.

Based on performance, Matthews uses interviews as an opportunity to preen, after which he routinely licks himself head-to-toe. “Hairball” describes his shtick perfectly. “Hardball” is a misnomer.

I have to wonder why a man of honor and decency which I believe Rhoads is would consent to be on a program with the thrill seeker and general num nutted Chris Matthews. It is simply a waste of time. No he will never understand nor does he care about those that risk there lives to protect his worthless hide.

If you don’t confront and destroy evil it will destroy you. Matthews is and example of the evil of the NBC Networks in their efforts to destroy Freedom of Speech as well as Freedom of the Press.

A draft-dodging bully like Matthews is a joke. What a great TV shot would be a guest punching him in the nose and the world could see him crying to his producer. Matthews is and always will be a coward which is why he and his ilk fear the military and veterans because we read them, don’t fear them and strike back.

I do not believe that anybody, except the extreme left, takes Matthews seriously. I agree with Christopher Hitchens, who called Matthews a ‘ vulgar clown “.

Thank God for the Oath Keepers who pledge not to obey orders from a tyrannical government.

Chris Matthews is a loud-mouthed media bully boy. He can pretend that governments have the interests of the citizens at heart when citizens rights are violated by a greedy grasping power mad group within the government, and groups close to it, but he’d be lying. He’s too close to the elite in the Council on Foreign Relations to pretend that he doesn’t know what is going on. The CFR commonly uses MSNBC as its media mouth piece.

Stewart Rhodes handled the badgering and heckling tactics of Chris Matthews very well, and mades his points and looked good doing it, IMO.

CFR, Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg Group, George Soros, Eric Schmidt and his W.H. Google cookies, Bill & Melinda Gates, Warren Buffet, John Pedosta are all part of the One World Government cabal with a One World Currency denominated in Special Drawing Rights (SDR) controlled by the IMF. Bernanke and the FRB have sold dollars, aiding Soros’ short position, in favor of SDRs. Immelt of GE, owner of the NBC networks and a CFR member as well as an Obama economic advisor, urges Matthews and the rest of their network to aid in the destruction of any government dissents and Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press.

those of the left don’t have the sense of duty, loyalty, patriotism, or purpose. I believe because of that they want to tear down what others have. I feel they suffer from a feeling of emptiness and worthlessness. There are those that have accomplished many things and have filled that void. They want to hold on to their wealth but they use the lost souls to do their bidding.

    I have sympathy for neither.

matthews has an absolute right under the first amendment to the constitution to make a fool of himself in public. this however does not lay upon us any corresponding duty to watch and listen as he does so. i have, so far, happily ignored matthews and will continue to do so in the future.

“What I don’t like about people who are armed, who are being recruited to stand up in some operation, I want to know when you would call your forces together and challenge the authority of the U.S. Government.”

The Left has a myopic hypocritical view of authority. When they’re not in charge, authority should be questioned, fought, and opposed. When they’re the authority, they expect blind faith and loyalty. The Constitution was purposely designed to temper and restrict the excesses of authority. Hopefully the U.S. Constitution will survive the soft tyranny of the current administration.

Matthews is a shill for the Left, pure and simple. I thought the phrase “Obama’s shoe shine boy” was about as entirely appropos. His tactic is simply to drive Mr. Rhodes off his point, pin him into a corner, and shout him down. I’ve heard of oath keepers, and have been checking them out. Violent resistance is NOT what they’re about. Refusing to obey unconstitutional orders IS. If anything, it’s a passive resistance movement. Many veterans are members; they feel their original oath to ‘support and defend’ still applies. Does anyone on here seriously doubt that Matthews, Olbermann, Maddow, and those in their camp exist to delegitimize those who disagree with the Left’s agenda? Don’t most of us here feel some level of alarm that that agenda is — haphazardly or otherwise — coming closer to reality? Check it out for yourselves:

Matthews is “a vulgar clown” and a progressive dullard with little use for factual integrity beyond the NutRoots, Daily Kos and the Huff ‘nPuff. His facial expressions, aggressive in your face spew, and twisted logic would more likely be appropriate for a judge at one of Hitler’s many show trials. Only Olbermann has the histrionic chops and facial tics to tie his leash to the crazy kennel with Chris. Matthews behavior shows clinical signs of narcissistic personality disorder, as does Keith Olbermann. Eric Hoffer’s book,” The True Believer”, explains the character and personality type and their attraction to rigid belief systems. The progressives, being baby communist totalitarians at heart, will not understand why some find them dangerously authoritarian. The difference between Matthews and Olbermann on the one hand and Tim Russert on the other, is painfully clear.

I never ever watch this idiot Chris Matthews. This Mark Potok for the Southern Proverty Law Center looks like a Communist for the 1917/1918 Russian doesn’t he. Would the Southern Proverty Law Center be to defend the American people if the FEMA camps are true. I won’t hold my breath. They would more thn likely be helping and point out who needs to go to the FEMA camps.

Why doesn’t Matthews investigate the fact that there are actual Communist working in the White House. Is Matthews and Olberman closet Commies.

Another “Dhimmi Boy”! Chris Matthew’s opinion of the military is indicative of any leftist swine in the country at the moment. Someone made the astute observation that all typical leftist louts question and resist authority until they are in power and then once they have said power, expect blind obedience! There is another thing they install also, compulsory military service starting at 15 for BOTH sexes!

Leftist scum understand the military perfectly well, they just don’t like OUR form of military where orders are NOT given in blind obeisance to the supreme leader! At the moment that is what is EXACTLY is going on with the situation in Afaganstan. The supreme leader Barack Hussein Obomber expects blind alligiance by the military and whines likes spoiled brat when doesn’t get it.

And that’s just it, the moonbat left does not understand that from day one everyone is told in the military they DO NOT AND CANNOT OBEY AN UNLAWFUL ORDER! The leftist ignoramuses do not understand that the real power of the chain of command in the US military comes from the bottom up, not top down! It’s the “willingness” of our highly trained troops to obey lawful orders that makes us the most formidable fighting force known to mankind!

Our chain of command is localized, it passes down the chain, not centralized like the Soviet Union and the other bastions of socialist tyranny! Although that is what Obmober and his ilk are trying to do to our military at this very momento! There want a Soviet or Communist China version of a military, loyal only to the Supreme Leader!

This is what “Shoe Shine Boy” and “Olbomberman” want for country, do you?
