Bill O’Reilly the Collector Duns Barack Obama the Debtor

October 31, 2009

Collector Conservatism: Pushing the Left to Pay Its Debt to America

I am definitely not a writer, at least according to Mrs. Stiftuk, who taught my eighth grade English class. I am, however, a veteran of almost 19 years in the collection business, and when you “dun” someone you are making a legal demand for the moola.

On October 28th in his Talking Points Memo, Bill O’Reilly dunned the pants off our President, telling Barack Obama that he must make a decision and either protect our troops by sending reinforcements to Afghanistan, or be ready to pay the price in more soldier bloodshed and American defeat.

Our dashing leader, in classic debtor fashion, has been pretending to be unaware of what is actually going on over in that part of the world. Just like the poor stiff who ran up $17,000 on his Visa bill over a 10-month time period and is now facing strident demands to pay, he has suddenly developed amnesia and wants to study documents and talk to his brain trust. He’s dawdling in coming to any sort of resolution.

In a statement meant to convey judiciousness and concern, our Commander-In-Chief (in a photo-op with some of our military men and women) promised our fighting forces that he would

“…never rush the solemn decision of sending you into harm’s way.”

That’s some great theatre, unless you’re already over there and dodging even more bullets than usual because your Captain wants to tarry and study flow charts and “get back with you” when the time is right (for him).

As O’Reilly said,

“This whole situation is very dangerous to Barack Obama, who is perceived in many quarters as timid. If Afghanistan goes south on his watch, he will get the loss. Terrorism will achieve a great victory and America will be embarrassed. That’s why you have to send the 40,000 troops.”

Or just admit you’re not going to do what needs to be done, and file whatever chapter it is that covers “Moral and Spiritual” Bankruptcy.

Bill O’Reilly dodged the draft. He’s hardly in any position to offer military advice.

Typical leftist ad hominem. Can’t answer the argument so you try and break the person.

Hey Ben, Just wondering, what are your credentials, what makes you the expert on military operations in Afghanistan?

  2. October 31, 2009 10:24 am

Ben, I have no idea if O’Reilly dodged the draft or not, but what does that have to do with Obama REFUSING TO MAKE A DECISION?

Does the President’s unwillingness to step up and assist our troops hurt those same troops?

    Of course.

    Case closed.

    • October 31, 2009 10:41 am

Of course it’s not case closed. It’s a difficult decision. For one, the election in Afghanistan was a farce and the runoff looks like it will be as well. The government is fraught with corruption and may actually be assisting the Taliban and the drug trade. Second, what will we accomplish by sending more troops? Is that the best way to defeat the Taliban and Al-Qaeda when they can just retreat into Pakistan?

The situation in Afghanistan was created by rushed judgment by the Bush administration. Obama recognizes that and is carefully considering all options.

I agree that Obama should take lots of time to carefully consider all options. Obviously, for example, two months is barely sufficient to get past introductions and handshakes with all the people he needs to talk with.

My guess is that Obama needs about 3 years to think this through. Yes, let us not push “O” into an ill considered rush to judgment for such a solemn decision.

Please Obama, be sure to take all the time you need. The troops are already in harms way, let them sink or swim. Maybe we can send them some Obama target “O” ball caps that for sure not one terrorist will have the audacity to shoot at.

I do not think that Obama recognizes any such thing (i.e. that Bush rushed to judgment). Actually as I recall, Obama believes that Afghanistan is the “right” war. I just saw a clip of him from (I believe) March ’09 where he says the war is “just” (I think that was the word he used). His belief is that Afghanistan was not prosecuted properly because Iraq distracted the U.S.

I think that Obama does not have a clue nor can he make a decision. This is all about politics and whether his ratings will be affected. At this point he has more than enough information to make a decision. I personally believe-whether it is good for this country or not-that if Obama cannot make a decision then bring those servicepeople home. Let those people be with their families. They should not be putting their life on the line for a president who does not believe in their mission or secretly hopes that they fail.

        • November 1, 2009 9:37 am

You can’t even be bothered to look up exactly what he said about Afghanistan. You just set up a straw-man so you can have a reason to hate Obama.

What? Go away, you should find out what Obama said-maybe I do not have the exact quotes but everyone here knows that Obama’s position is-or was (as do you even if you care not to admit it) was that Afghanistan was the war to fight-not Iraq. Obama is not carefully considering his options-he is polititcally considering his options because he opened his mouth and he has to insert his foot. The fact is he is a coward on all fronts. Shame on him and those who defend him for his actions.

Ben, you’re a fool and obviously have not been on the receiving end of a fire fight. It protects lives, the Soldiers there now. Strength in numbers. Every life lost while he dithers is his responsibility and should weigh heavily on his conscious…it won’t because he doesn’t care. How it affects him politically is what he cares about….always about him.

My mother continually spouts if I don’t have anything positive to say I shouldn’t say anything at all. Maybe it’s me but Obama has at least demonstrated a modicum of consistency. After all he never says anything.

Isn’t he lucky that our nation’s governments assisted haven’t used their unemployed free time to educate themselves for generations? Otherwise Ben may have noticed he’s playing for the wrong team. Good luck Ben, hey just out of curiosity, how much is that welfare check these days anyway? Shame it won’t be worth anything after inflation kicks in. At least our commander will ensure there are fewer troops around to experience the detriment. Sorry mom.

Let me guess, you’ve no doubt invested your stimulus money on equipment that can transfer the image onto red and white striped material as well; good work, you’ll be ready when your fearless leader calls.

Seriously Ben, I hope you do great and I do fine thanks for asking. I sincerely hope your eyes open before our country is completely destroyed. We really do need you playing for our team. Regardless of how well you do or don’t do, it isn’t well enough to be given protection from this abomination, he may come with a smile, maybe with candy, but rest assured he will arrive and I guarantee without KY.

I have been encouraging others to just read that new book out about a small town in America that fights federal tyranny & ends up starting the 2nd American Revolution. It’s well worth the read if you see how our country is going down hill. It’s insightful of Americans fighting a tyranny our ancestors had to once fight inthe 1st American Revolution. The parallel of then & now are becoming more obvious. Just read it & see what’s coming nxt for you & me.

“All Delays are Dangerous in War”
    John Dryden

The absolute hubris of the left and its current leader Obama that a delay is “carefully considering all options” reminds me of the hubris we heard in the Dot Bomb era, when profit was Old School and the Internet would bring about a change in the way business is done.

Turns out that ignoring the most basic measure of success and efficiency, profitability, brought down the Dot Bombers to earth in a big hurry. It also turned out the business model many Internet startups were just another scam meant to empty investors’ pockets.

Leftists try scamming Americans about Afghanistan with American soldiers’ lives at stake and we may be holding a party for those in power:

    A necktie party.

Obama needs to cut bait or fish.

    Do his job or resign.

Let the adults conduct win the war.

Don’t you just wish you believed that Obama’s delay in making a decision is because he IS carefully studying all the options? This man has been studying Afghanistan since he was a child. If he doesn’t know what he wants to do now, he never will. Oh! Wait! He IS doing what he wants to do: drag out the decision until the USA loses more international power and credibility.

I believe that’s either the 49th or 50th time this excuse has been used to cover one of O’Blunder’s naive and adolescent actions.

But what can you expect when you give a self-absorbed child unlimited power?

It’s never his fault when things go wrong, it’s always the big bad boogie-men: Bush, evil insurance companies, banks, Fox News, CEOs of car companies, greedy doctors, traders on Wall Street, Christians fondling their guns and grandma/grandpa protesters who are rabid domestic terrorists with Nazi agendas and nothing but racism on their minds.

Being a child in a man’s world must be quite scary………

Before the election, Obama said Afghanistan was the real war we should be fighting, and not the one in Iraq. Now that Obama the socialist is in power, he suddenly finds himself with a case of amnesia. His Leftist friends don’t want more troops in Afghanistan, they want Obama to pull all troops out and surrender to our enemy. Giving the enemy a solid victory now in Afghanistan, will only embolden them as well as the rest of the muslim world thats hell bent on the destruction of America. Obama said not long ago, that he doesn’t like the word victory. Well from what I’ve seen of his actions, Obama doesn’t want victory. When Obama raises the white flag of surrender, I would expect another apology to the muslim world, and once again blame Bush for the whole mess.

    • November 1, 2009 9:43 am

To have a victory you have to be able to define what “victory” means. I have yet to see a good definition of “victory in Afghanistan.”

“To have a victory you have to be able to define what “victory” means”

FYI: The last time Afghanistan was conquered was by Tamerlane, 600+ years ago.

Ironically, he is quoted as saying: “I am not a man of blood; and God is my witness that in all my wars I have never been the aggressor, and that my enemies have always been the authors of their own calamity”. Kinda sounds like many of our own presidents…….

No such thing as victory in Afghanistan, short of total destruction, a la Tamerlane. As the current election shows, they are unable to form a solid state out of the multiple factions, half of which are robber barons and/or criminals. They are closer to anarchists than almost any other state in the world.

If we don’t have the cojones for total destruction, we need to pull out immediately. We’re just wasting money, time and the blood of our children to “help build a democratic state”. Being nice just doesn’t work.

Because we as Americans are unwilling to do what is necessary, mostly due to political correctness and our weird longing to be loved by the rest of the world, as shown by the recent election, we have no business there.

    Bring ’em home.

Admit it, the ONLY think Obama is good at is telling stories. He is great at making promises he can’t keep, he avoids hard questions or questions that his handlers/donors will not like, he thinks nothing of punishing those who believe in the American dream and are willing to work for it, he LOVES to appologize for the successes that made America great and kept the world freer than his socialist programs would like.
The man owes the working, thinking American tax payer a sincere applogy and his resignation. Then a copy of his birth paperwork to show us what he has spent over $1.7M to hide.

  12. November 1, 2009 11:33 am

Ben said, “Bill O’Reilly dodged the draft. He’s hardly in any position to offer military advice.”

If that’s true, then President Obama is also not in any position to tell the Military what to do. He’s never been in the Military, and has never faced fire.

Let’s take a look at Obama’s past. Harvard or Yale, Constitutional Law Review, Community Organizer. He’s never held down a real job, or written a real book. He’s not an economist, he’s not a doctor, he’s not a nurse, he’s not a CNA.

So, if we are basing a person’s opinion on what he’s done, then President Obama has done absolutely nothing, and should have no say in anything.

You can’t have it both ways, because as much as I was disappointed in Bush, he did serve in the National guard, he flew jets, he ran an oil company, he owned a baseball or football team, he worked before becoming President, which is more than Obama has done.

    So, what will it be?

Terrorism will indeed achieve a great victory. Many soldiers will continue losing their lives while Obama plays political chess with them as pawns. But America will be far more than just embarrased. The world will realize that America is no longer powerful, determined, committed or dependable. America will be perceived as weak and indecisive. The “beacon of liberty on the hill” will be put out and we will cease to be the last “superpower” on the planet. It is incredible to contemplate that Obama and his thugs could obliterate our image in the world in such a short span of time. He is the first President in our history who seeks to humiliate and weaken this country. If this is not “treason” or a “high crime and misdemeanor” then no President should have even been impeached or subject to impeachment proceedings.

    • F. Swemson permalink

Well there are 2 reasons why the right shies away from this story.

The first is that the far left propaganda artists have masterfully engineered this farce in such a way to make anyone who discusses it look like a crazy conspiracy theorist… Of course the question remains, why won’t he produce it.

The second is that there’s more than one possible answer. Most who believe that he’s constitutionally ineligible for the job because he’s not a natural born citizen… that may in fact be true, but I doubt it.

I think the most likely reason why he won’t produce the original documents is that they show that Barak Obama Sr. is NOT his real father. In his book he spoke about his mentor, Frank Marshall Davis:

Davis was a self admitted communist (He was also a pornographer and a pedophile)

Assuming that this is true, had it become known that Davis was his father, he’d have never been able to seek high political office.

When Obama’s mother married Obama Sr, she was already pregnant…

Who does Obama look most like, Davis on the left, or Obama Sr. on the right ?

The photographic evidence looks pretty strong, and all the circumstantial evidence fits right in with the timelines of all involved.

This man is so devious and deceptive however that nobody outside of his most inner circle really knows the truth about his background (remember his academic records have never been released either)

So all we know for a fact about him is that he’s a socialist / communist, a pathological liar, and all indications seem to prove that he’s a true sociopath, just like several other “world leaders” such as Stalin, Mao.
