Media Matters: SEIU’s Andy Stern is really not a communist. Really.

I think lawyers call this sort of thing “an admission against interest”…

Today, Media Matters condemns Glenn Beck’s “witch hunt” against Andy Stern, the president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the nation’s second biggest labor union (which has recently taken to hijacking town hall meetings and beating up opponents):

Continuing his pattern, Glenn Beck suggested during the November 3 edition of his radio program that SEIU’s Andy Stern is a communist, socialist, and Marxist because he said in an interview that “workers of the world unite, it’s not just a slogan anymore. It’s the way we’re going to have to do our work.”

However, when asked in a separate interview why he uses the slogan, Stern replied that it’s “good news” that “communism’s dead”…

That’s true. But Stern said that last bit to Leslie Stahl on 60 Minutes. What does Stern say when he’s among friends?

Incredibly, Media Matters undermines its own defense of Stern by obviously citing additional segments from Glenn Beck’s November 3 radio broadcast. On that show, Beck ran clip after audio clip of Stern saying troubling things, such as:

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It started last summer with the so called big box ordinance.

BECK: Listen to this.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Labor wanted it; business didn’t.

STERN: We took names. We watched how they voted. We know where they live. (…)

STERN: There are opportunities in America to share better in the wealth, to rebalance the power, and unions and government are part of the solution.

And as Beck reminded listeners, Andy Stern has visited the White House more than any other guest this year. Which comes as no surprise because, along with President Obama himself, “SEIU has extensive ties to the community organization ACORN.”

Besides:

Stern is a leading figure in the so-called Shadow Party, a nationwide network of more than five-dozen unions, non-profit activist groups, and think tanks whose agendas are ideologically leftist, and who are engaged in campaigning for the Democrat Party.

Let’s face it: $61 million buys you a lot of face time with the man who sits in the Oval Office.

Remember, just like most liberals, Media matters is only interested what liberals say, not what they do. Only conservatives are held accountable for both their verbage and actions. Reference the claims of bias regarding the current congressional ethics probes if you don’t agree.

Clarification, by “say”, I mean on the record, of course.

It is quite amazing to discover these subversive characters have been allowed exist under the labor movements banner while they have done so much much harm to those they represent. It is the same as biting the hand that feeds you.

If they ever get a deep investigative team headed by a competent supervisor started on these thugs it will be Katie bar the door.

@John Davidson: that’s a great remark, actually. The labor movement – whether it’s in the US or in Europe – has done more to hurt those it claims to represent than anyone else could have hope of doing.

@InTheKnow: that’s the bad news, indeed. The good news is that we are here to check up on what they’re doing 😉

You can bet next weeks pay check Glen Beck would not have taken Andy Stern on. Unless he has the skinny on him.
Just watch the next few day’s, it will be ahhh “revealing” on Becks show.
He does not even have to be smart about it. Good odds he’s getting all the dirt from millions of viewers on this guy.
If form holds true, mainly from ex girlfriends.
Thats how 90% of tax or EI. fraud is uncovered.
From those little whispers between the covers to the law by way of breaking up.
Long past time someone held up this guy to public scrutiny if he’s this close to Obama.

Beck has had a phone line open to you Andy Stern from Anita Dunn’s office for 3 to 4 weeks now. If you want to refute his words why haven’t you called him.

SEIU is anti-American worker. They support illegal aliens totally, and where they go,wages go down. In 1989,Burger king paid higher wages than they do now. People out of work everywhere, and look who is doing roofing, construction, highway jobs.(They ain’t just pea-pickin’ anymore.) All supported by SEIU. Thanks for nothing!

In th 50s, John Wayne, the Duke, had a movie where he played a Federal Agent. Who goes undercover to weed out Communist in the Longshoremans union in Hawaii. What is so amazing is the story line is actually true not ficition. I honestly believe that the Communist enbedded thru out our society. Just look at the Democratic party. Pelosi and Reid pushing for a national healthcare plan. Lenin said that Medicine was the keystone of the Arch of Socialism. Who is pushing for the national healthcare plan, Andy Stern. What funny is he looks like he is related to Wayne and Dale Rathke.
