Obama on Ft. Hood: Cover Your Ears & Close Your Eyes

November 6, 2009

obamarose

President Obama took all of about one minute and 30 seconds on Friday morning to comment on Thursday’s Ft. Hood massacre before moving on to comments regarding the economy.  We were admonished thus:

“I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.”

Exactly what IS one to conclude about this incident in which 13 were killed and 30 injured by a Muslim officer in the United States Army who according to witnesses shouted “Allahu Akbar” before gunning down innocent bystanders?  That he was a victim of harassment who simply “snapped?”  An unfortunate victim of “post-traumatic stress disorder” who had never been anywhere near a war zone?  A random nutcase? What sort of mass insanity allows such claims to be taken seriously in the first place?

Unfortunately our President is not alone in urging caution regarding an event that should be cause for outrage on multiple levels in the mind of any rational human being.  The vast majority of media coverage followed the same politically-correct template we have come to expect, taking care to avoid any discussion of Islamic ideology as a motivating factor in the attack.  It can in fact be argued that this was the PRIMARY factor motivating Nidal Malik Hasan, and this case seems to grow stronger by the hour with each new fact released. Not to acknowledge that this horrific act was by any objective measure the very definition of a terrorist attack is to put our society and our nation at risk for more of the same.

Here we have a man who openly and repeatedly expressed sympathy for the enemy in wartime to fellow soldiers and even his superior officer, and despite this was recently (May of this year) promoted from the rank of Captain to Major.  Hasan had posted statements on the Internet expressing solidarity with Muslim suicide bombers – a fact which was evidently investigated and then promptly dismissed as being of no consequence.  He had reportedly given presentations at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on why infidels should convert to Islam.  This is not only shocking but profoundly disturbing, as it indicates that our military has been infiltrated at a very high level by a fifth column.

Institutionalized political correctness poses a grave danger.  It prevents not only our military, but other vital institutions within our society from identifying and subsequently eliminating malignant elements.   There are reportedly over 15,000 Muslim soldiers currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, and more are being actively recruited by its leadership.  Clearly, while not every Muslim American soldier places loyalty to his jihadist brethren above his sworn duty to protect his country, such individuals do exist and must be screened out rather than promoted.  Our military has been fatally compromised.  When will we put an end to this madness?

The real problem with this attitude of Obama is that by ignoring this problem, you’re only making it worse. As I opined yesterday elsewhere, ‘the attack should serve as a reminder that the war on terrorism continues unabated. The U.S. may have gotten a new president, but that doesn’t mean it can just ignore the extremist-muslim problem that exists in America and in the rest of the world.’

The problem with the approach of Barack Obama, MSNBC and the European media (who have ignored the major’s obvious extremism thus far) is that ignoring a problem doesn’t make it go away. Extremists have to be fought on several levels: ideological, spiritual, physical, etc. To do so, we have to admit that a problem exists. Muslim extremism exists. It’s even a gigantic problem, especially in the Middle East (but also in the West). Islamism is an ideology of hatred, intolerance and violence. We can’t compromise with it, we have to defeat it. Whitewashing the acts of extremists thinking they may just leave us alone if we stick our heads in the sand, won’t work.

You would think that the MSM have awakened to this fact by now, but no. Their political correctness prevents them from waking up and doing what they are supposed to do.

It has not gotten last me that even our Army has experienced changes that place them, and us, at greater risk. First and foremost, you cannot…simply cannot run a politically correct army. It’s an oxymoron. Discipline is paramount, and tradition is the base of discipline. When you waver…when you have to think…you die.

Secondly, why have we disarmed our soldiers “on post”? Why don’t our officers carry their sidearms when “covered”? Had we stuck to that tradition, thise fruitcake would have died between the “Allahu” and the Ackbar”. And 13 patriots would be alive.

I love how you described the alacrity with which this rotten apple would have been dispatched to join those 72 virgins – since, apparently, he couldn’t even cajole ONE here on Earth to marry him – had personnel on base been allowed to carry firearms. Someone on the radio pointed out that it was during the Carter Admin. that this travesty was inaugurated. Yet another reason to totally detest the failure Carter!

One can see the excuses lining up .. deprived childhood, indoctrination by evil imams, bullying by fellow soldiers, poor living conditions, no-one whom he could talk to, and the biggie .. psychological stress brought on by unjustifiable pressures deriving from military life. We will end up thinking he is the victim and pay compensation to his family and friends!

I am fairly certain that there are a fair number of prior or current military among the readers and contributors here. So for those of you that were or are not I wanted to clear up any confusion about the fact of Major Hasan’s promotion. Major Hasan is a doctor. This means that he is not what the military calls a “line officer”-i.e. a “fighting service member” on the front line. He is in what the military calls a “service corp”. The service corps include doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and even lawyers (i.e. JAGC)-there are more, I think, but my mind is not working this early in the morning. Most of these individuals have advanced degrees and for that reason a doctor actually will enter the initial training camp (the Navy calls it Officer Indoctrination School) as a Captain (which is the 3rd highest officer rank in the Army and Air Force-the Navy calls this rank, Lieutenant).

As for promotion-all the service corps are different but it is relatively difficult to keep doctors in the military. In order to spice it up and keep doctors the military offers huge bonuses and relatively easy promotion opportunities. In Major Hasan’s case he was promoted to Major in April only because he became a “board certified” psychiatrist. Basically, if he showed up for work and passed his boards this rank was automatic. There probably was not a real review of his record and all of the “signs” that should have been looked at were not even presented to the promotion board. This was a rubber stamp promotion.

My final comment about the Medical Corps is that traditionally it is one of the most liberal branches of the military. For example, fraternization (officers and enlisted dating or being more familiar than is permitted under the UCMJ-Uniform Code of Military Justice) is basically ignored. So my guess is Hasan’s “craziness” was just passed off as someone just getting it off of his chest and not a real threat to “order and discipline”.

My heart goes out to those families and to Hasan’s family who had the opportunity to defend him before we heard from any of the victims or their family members-HE WAS NOT A GOOD AMERICAN.

I need to correct the last sentence.

My heart goes out to the victims and families of those hurt at Fort Hood. To Hasan’s family who had the opporunity to defend him (thanks to Shep Smith-what an idiot) before we heard from any victim or member of a victim’s family-HASAN WAS NOT A GOOD AMERICAN!!!!!

“I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts”

One can only assume that the President learned a great lesson this past summer. Too bad he wasn’t aware then that he shouldn’t jump to conclusions when his Professor friend from Harvard met up with the Cambridge police officer!!!

    • November 7, 2009 6:10 am

Janet: You are almost correct, but it was the advisers of POTUS which learned the lesson from the Sgt Crowley incident. Bao (rhymes with Mao) is incapable of absorbing anything other than anti-Americanism.

Dear Lord, how can our PINO (president in name only) be so insufferably arrogant, and yet hapless and inept, at the same time? What part of “terrorism” doesn’t he understand? Don’t jump to conclusions? I’m certain that the only jumping he does is on the basketball court. Heaven forbid we should look at a massacre of mostly unarmed patriots by a confessed radical Islamist and think it may just possibly be anything but the act of a poor, unfortunate, misunderstood victim! Just to set the record straight, Mr. POTUS it was not a “tragic shooting;” it was a massacre. Look it up.

Jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts?????

What this man committed was calculated, cold-blooded, murder. It was hatred for those who stood against what he believed in and absolutely NO excuses should be made for him.
For every comment made that makes him look like a “victim”, it takes the focus off of the innocent, REAL victims of this massacre who were there to serve our country, only to have “one of their own” turn against them. Why should we dishonor those who died by finding excuses for the man who killed them?
THIS IS OUR COUNTRY! We need to stand up for our rights as AMERICANS and punish the shooter to the fullest extent of the law. What he did was a terrorist act, pure and simple.

I totally agree that no investigation is needed into the motivation for this horrid terrorist attack…

But I have another question about the way this is being handled however.

13 fine men were murdered by that muslim POS. He SHOT them all…

So please tell me why the Army has to perform autopsies on them… Are they searching for “contributory” causes of their deaths… like Impetigo or Schistosomiasis or flat feet…. What’s that crap all about ?

Why do we need to subject their families to even more distress, by thinking of their loved ones being sliced open on a stainless steel table..

What purpose does it serve ?

        November 11, 2009 7:29 am

Autopsies are always performed on a persons body that was murdered and performed on any person who dies within a 24 hour period of hospital admission. In this case the autopsies will help prevent any future conspiracy theories or crazies from claiming there were other shooters involved. The bullets removed from all bodies have to match up to the guns and amo used by the Jihadist in order to prove that he alone murdered our service men and women in cold blood!

Just a thought. Article III Constitution:

Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court. The Congress shall have power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

Question? Will Major Hasan be charged with a hate crimes offense? I’m willing to bet he isn’t. Yet is very clear he acted out of hate for his fellow american soldiers. Major Hasan hated American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. When Major Hasan converted to the Muslim religion, he learned to hate all Infidels. This is truly a Terrorist hate crime, but Obama and his Drive by media will do their best to spin this into nothing more then a metally Ill victim, brought about by uncomfirmed remarks that have already been found to be false. Major Hasan was converted into a Muslim Jihadist hell bent on killing Americans. Plain and simple fact. A definite Hate Crime.

Ain’t gonna happen, Chipper. Ralph Peters had a good coumn yesterday in the NYPost, pointing out that the Army’s highest brass is so PC now, and so scared of its own shadow, that it won’t dare execute the shooter. No — we’ll be subsidizing the scumbag for the rest of his life, such as it is.

Is anyone reading this blog all that surprised at the President’s reaction?

Why would a radical be upset when a Freedom Fighter” strikes a blow for the proletariate? I think the Pres. was much more concerned about the negative image this CONFIRMS to the public about devout Muslims being more loyal to the Sharia than to the U.S.

Given recent revelations (see Heretics Crusade.com) about the Congessional Muslim Staffers Association and President Obama co-operating in selecting 45 Muslims to work for the White House (only 3.5 times the number that would reflect their actual presence in the U.S. population) I am sure the biggest thing on Obama’s mind was “CRAP, now all the media might start listening to people like FrontPage Magazine, Jihad Watch, Muslims Against Sharia, DiscoverTheNetworks.org and Heretics Crusade!”

    We can only hope.

I think what all of you are forgetting here, is that if Maj. Hasan was having trouble and didn’t want to be in the military, why didn’t he just resign his commission? He could’ve been out of the military really quick. I think there was another agenda here…maybe Jihad?

      Brenda,

He had mandatory service in repayment of his medical school education. He agreed to take our goodies, but NOT to protect our rights to GIVE our goodies. He should have been made to serve out his hitch (as he was). Had he not wanted to, he should have been held accountable under the terms of desertion. Desertion in wartime used to carry the death penalty. NOW, he should stand for treason and face a firing squad. I’m guessing they’d have to beat away soldiers at Ft. Hood for THAT duty!!!

I heard him laughing at Christians, people who work hard for their money and don’t want higher taxes, people who don’t want his health care plan, who don’t approve of those he’s appointed to help him run our country-because he can’t do it himself, people who attended the D.C.tea-party and he had the nerve to say he didn’t know they were there, and countless other times…he laughs, and laughs, and is having a grand ol’ time sitting pretty in the highest appointed seat in America. He has access to all of our top-secret documents, and when his term is through, and years down the line, he will be the one being laughed at.
That is if there is an America left…..

What some of you are hinting at, but are not saying clearly, is:
    a) America voted “politically correct” for a black president.
    b) America voted for a muslim president. President Hussain! – a name
he carefully hid throughout his campaign. The press (free press?)
would not highlight his problematic associations with America’s
enemies. It was politically incorrect to do so.
    c) Political correctness is inherently false. It has a high price tag.
    d) America is now paying the price!!
