Col. Ralph Peters Reminds O’Reilly, Terrorists Can Be Tormented Psychos, Too

November 7, 2009

Sometimes you can just tell that Bill O’Reilly resents the fact that he is undeservedly portrayed as a conservative. Yeah, he’s a patriotic guy, like your next door neighbor, and he’s right of center on most issues; but he’s basically an American populist.

Friday night, O’Reilly through his Talking Points Memo and an extremely vacuous interview with Geraldo Rivera got too cute by half in trying to prove what a “Fair and Balanced” dude he really is.

Despite all the eyewitnesses which prove premeditation, O’Reilly tried to play wise sage and halve the baby between whether Ft. Hood killer Dr. Hasan was a terrorist who planned his attack, or was just a PTSD psycho who snapped—the only evidence of which is the assertions of MSNBC hosts.

His guest Col. Ralph Peters was having none of it.  “Bill, I don’t think there is any contradiction,”  Peters snapped,  “Terrorists are not by nature happy campers, suicide bombers aren’t necessarily from the middle of the Bell Curve.”

Watch the whole interview above, it doesn’t require a lot of comment from me, but here are a few highlights to whet your appetite.

“What happened yesterday at Fort Hood is the worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. It was committed by a Muslim fanatic who shouted Allah is great, and gunned down 44 unarmed soldiers and civilians.  And our president tells us not to rush to judgment to wait until all the facts are in.  What facts are we waiting for? This was an Islamist terrorist attack, and I’m sorry if it’s inconvenient for Washington to face the facts.

He acquired the weapons that takes a couple days. He gave away his possessions, basically closed out his apartment, he clearly was planning it for at least several days. It was a cold-blooded act.

What troubles me more than the fact that this was a terrorist act and the mainstream– lame stream–media won’t deal with it as such, it troubles me that our army has become so politically correct that they didn’t get rid of this guy.

I want our President to take a stand. Stop all this “Oh there is no Islamist terrorism,” Fort Hood, the new 911.  Let’s be honest about it.

This guy’s been a sad sack and a troublemaker for a long time. But because he was part of a protected species, a protected minority, the Army let him slide… and what happened 12 soldiers and 1 civilian dead, 28 seriously wounded in a few slightly wounded. And what do we say, ‘Oops?”  No it’s time we get rid of the PC culture in the Army and the media and in society.

At some point we need to stop focusing on high, “Oh this poor Maj. Hassan how tormented he was,” and remember– how many names do we know of the dead? What about the names of the wounded? Has the media covered the family lives have been destroyed? The lives that been destroyed? No it’s all about poor Maj. Hassan and I am ready to puke!”

All I can say is Hoo-ah!

“What cowards we are. Political correctness killed those patriotic Americans at Fort Hood as surely as the Islamist gunman did. And the media treat it like a case of nondenominational shoplifting.”

Bet you a dollar this is featured on Mondays FrontPage Magazine.

The Col. Peters column states what the derelict media in this country will not.

America is seen today, worldwide, as soft, which in the eyes of fanatic Muslims translates to cowardice, an easy mark and ripe for plucking. Look at Europe and weep. You see France, Belgium, Germany. Italy, etc., overrun by Muslims who DEMAND rights and over a very few years have inflicted their own values and way of life on their hosts. And all because their hosts allowed it to happen, just as America is doing today. It is no secret that in a few decades Europe will be Muslim-dominated, and it does not take much imagination to ponder what next.

Every time I hear O’Reilly lately I get the feeling that Roger Ailes is really concerned about Obama’s attack on Fox, and he’s therefore pushing O’Reilly to the left so that he can maintain a “fair balance”…

    I just wish he’d move Beck to O’Reilly’s spot…

Ratings have a lot to do with it, too. I can’t understand not moving him to the 7 spot, though,or at least re-running him at 7 like MSNBC does with Matthews, who has twice as many viewers for his 7 re-run as his 5 show, and they would clean up. Since O’Reilly is by far the most watched show, he ain’t getting moved anywhere.

I see it not as Ailes’ influence as BOR positioning himself to better avoid the bloodbath this administration is hoping to achieve with their complete take-over of all information outlets. After all, Ailes approached Beck about moving to FOX and has made no attempt to rein Beck in as CNN Headline did. Bringing Lou Dobbs and John Stossel on board. No leash on Hannity. And, hell, even Greta is growing more forceful in her criticisms! But I did notice that right after BOR poopoohed the “fairness doctrine” concerns during the election, he took his own radio show off the air, and his defending of Obama increased about ten fold.

    F. Swemson: there could actually be something to that, I suppose. In the end, Fox is a business organization. They’ll do what’s necessary to succeed in that respect. Then again, Fox is having major success by being critical of Obama and ideologically right-of-center.

I whole-heartedly agree! I keep hearing – from the MSM – how the Major was taunted because of his Muslim beliefs. As if this was a foruth-grade classroom, rather than a military of adults. Utter nonsense! Who could tease a Major? His CO? The Corproal who drives him? WHo?

Nonsense! No teasing or taunting went on. He should’ve been cashiered early on. PTSD? From what? He wasn’t overseas! He wasn’t in battle. He was a lousy doctor, a poor soldier.

Cashiered long ago? Not in our PC world.

America Again Turns a Blind Eye

    By John L. Work

    November 6, 2009

Yesterday, November 5th, 2009, United States Army Major Nidal Hasan, an American citizen born of Jordanian parents, a medical doctor, a psychiatrist, educated in the universities of this nation – and a Muslim – reportedly yelled the Arabic language jihad war cry Allahu akbar, God is Great, as he opened fire and waged a horrendously bloody act of jihad on unsuspecting soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood, Texas, the largest military installation in the world. We now know that Hasan gave us lots of notice that he might do this, including pro-jihad statements he reportedly made to other military officers and his anti-war internet postings that were known by federal authorities.

    So, how could this happen?

Unbelievably, as the event was still unfolding yesterday, the FBI announced to the nation by and through Fox News TV that there was absolutely no terrorist nexus or connection to this incident. How many times have we seen FBI spokesmen sprint to TV microphones before an investigation has even commenced to breathlessly assure us that a murderous incident like this is isolated and is not related in any way to Islam or to Muslim jihad terrorist activity? How much longer are we going to give credence to anything the FBI tells us? Please, stop lying to me.

Today begins the official media scrubbing clean, or in columnist and author Diana West’s word – sanitizing – of Islam and any connection to Muslim doctrine, law, tenet, or accepted mainstream Islamic belief from yesterday’s horrific events. Major Hasan’s Muslim family is stunned. The imam at Hasan’s mosque in Maryland is puzzled. The big news outlets, with the exception of Sean Hannity at Fox News, are blindly, pathetically searching for elusive, mysterious answers to the conundrum. Even some conservative talk radio show hosts I have listened to this morning do not have it right.

I am not stunned or surprised by this act of jihad. The slaughter enrages me.

What is truly stunning to me is the continuing depth, breadth and immensity of the abject ignorance of America’s political leaders, military leaders, and big news outlets about Islam. Words are not adequate to describe my disgust at the fact that, years after the jihad attacks on the cities of New York, Washington, D.C., London and Madrid, virtually no one in the higher levels of our government or our major media seems to have even a clue as to what we are really up against.

America continues to willfully turn a blind eye to that which is right in front of her face, like an elephant standing in the living room that no one will talk about.

The World of Islam is at war with us.

We have listened to Bill Clinton, George Bush, and now Barack Obama, tell us that Islam is a religion of peace and that we are not fighting a war against Islam. It’s time to awaken and see what is truly before us, before it destroys our way of life and our nation.

The skull-cracking truth, America, is that in the World of Islam, politics, government, religion, civil law, criminal law, personal hygiene, clothing style, and all other minute facets of life are rolled and bundled into one totalitarian package. And we’re just unbelievably not getting it yet into our heads that if we do not come to grips with the doctrines and law of Islam that are driving the jihad, including the horror yesterday at Fort Hood, we are going to lose this War.

There is such an emphasis on the spiritual dynamic of Islam that America has foolishly and ignorantly repeatedly leapt to the mantle of the First Amendment to excuse and accommodate the relentless incremental demands for Muslim law to be imposed on our culture. Footbaths at the JBS plant in Greeley, Colorado and a new Muslim prayer room at the University of Colorado come to mind.

The issue before us for the survival of our way of life is not one of religion. So, please, America, please get that First Amendment stuff out of your head for the moment. It’s not relevant to the problem at hand.

Here’s the problem we face: There is an immense package of codified Muslim civil, criminal and political law, which includes the repression of women and non-Muslim men, the command for establishing the supremacy of Islam over all other political and legal systems, and a barbaric, unspeakably cruel system of criminal law and punishment for offenses against Islam. That is the issue facing us. In radio talk show host Peter Boyles’ words this morning, would a Nazi sympathizer have been permitted to join the U.S. Army in 1943?

So, where to now, America? When are we going to begin to examine and publicly debate the laws and doctrines of Islam without the fear of being labeled racist or xenophobe, in order that we may survive this relentless onslaught of jihad?

It’s not a matter of race relations. Islam makes no exclusion based upon race. There are Muslims all over the world of many different races. And we’d better get our heads around that idea pretty quickly, then stop listening to the Council on American Islamic Relations.

Yesterday it was a successful deadly attack on Fort Hood. Countless numbers of attempts to commit terrorist attacks have been foiled. Eight years ago it was New York City and Washington, D.C. According to eminent scholar of Islam and author Robert Spencer there have been over fourteen-thousand violent jihad attacks world-wide since the 2001 World Trade Center destruction and killing of nearly three-thousand Americans.

Wake up, America. We’re still under attack. And the enemy has infiltrated our armed forces.

Ever wonder what kind of nation he wants U.S. to be? It should be quite obvious. Once again he disregards the very brave Iranian protesters and says he will not interfere. He will let that stand.

While, to him, U.S. tea party protesters are loony and un-American. He will let that stand.

He supported the Central American president who decided he didn’t want to leave office, in contrast to their constitution. Makes one wonder…will he attempt to do the same? Just a thought I had…I’ll let it stand.

Hey, David, very strong commentary here. I generally love O’Reilly, but I saw those interviews and wanted to yell at O’Reilly for his muddle-headedness(one word or two?). Peters cut right through O’Reilly- and certainly through Rivera’s- over finessing of the issues here. A real false dichotomy it is to pit a claim that this guy was unstable against the claim he was a jihadist.

I am worried about how the language the media habitually uses might prevent many Americans from seeing this clearly. To constantly posit “he just snapped” versus he was an “Islamic terrorist” makes a hash of what we know about how jihadists come into being. But at least now Joe Lieberman is speaking out without blinders on.

Bill O’reilly has no foundational principles about property rights and individual rights being the foundation of liberty. He’s as wishy-washy as many of the state-controlled news-media pundits. It’s sad that people like him are the alleged voices of conservatism and objectivity.

We do need more voices like Col. Peters to shout out the truth about Islamic terrorism. It’s scary how many of our citizens still don’t get it. Islam is ice-cold evil. Members of that religion have been killing, kidnapping, subjugating women, robbing, committing genocide, and practicing pedophilia and slavery for over 1400 years. All these Islamic evils continue to this day world-wide. Check your newspapers, over-seas news sources, and Google.
I’ve talked to some fellow citizens–educated, accomplished people–about Hasan, the Ft. Hood terrorist, and they seemed shocked at my statements that Islam had anything to do with the murders. I wanted to slap them around and wake them up. If the attacks of 9/11 didn’t wake up our citizenry and news-media, will it take an A-bomb to do it?
It’s amazing how people can “blank-out evil,” to use Ayn Rand’s phrase. jd

Before I begin, I just want to give a shout out to Mr. Obama, who without a pre-planned and organized response, looked and acted like a 3nd grader called up in front of the class to read his report on what he did over the summer vacation. In the real world we would expect our president to be able to shift gears and focus on the immediate crisis, addressing it and being able to take action. What we witnessed was the unimaginable. An immature, inexperienced, narcisistic political bully that either chose to ignore the obvious, or was ignorant to the obvious fact that an act of terrorism had taken place on his watch. His willingness to ignore the fact that Islam is not now or has ever been a religion of peace will continue to place all of us at great risk. The very core of Islam is to triumph and destroy all that that does not conform to Islamic laws. It is not complex or difficult to understand that the basic beliefs of Islam are not compatible with a democratic society, nor does it take psychological analysis of Hasan’s behavior to understand that he chose to live and act upon the Islamic call to conquer, destroy, convert, take into slavery all that is not Islamic. The political correctness to explain away the abhorrent behavior of those that commit crimes with psychological, socio-economic, equity unfairness explanations has become the great stumbling block that places our society in great danger. We have ventured into an area where covering our eyes or ears to the infiltration of evil (in many forms beyond Islam) into the fabric of American society has corrupted the very soul of America. The Army knew that Hasan was a problem for a time before his transfer to Fort Hood. The Army chose to not address the problem for what it really was. They had a growing radical Islamist in their ranks that not only posed a great threat, but had already begun consistently acting out his beliefs without regard for the consequences that a non-Islamic soldier would face. Instead of acting inaccord with the Army code and discharging him, the Army chose to shift him to what they perceived as a position where he could finish his obligation of contract to repay his training costs at a base where he would hopefully have less impact/disturbance on others. This was a fatal mistake that cost the lives of unarmed Americans that chose to defend this country, not destroy it.We live in a time where evil is viewed as good, and good is viewed as evil by many. I encourage, no,I demand that the armed services look inside it’s ranks for what are potential time bombs. Are there Islamic pilots? Do any of this pilots fly bombers with the potential of carrying a nuclear weapon? Are there Islamic scientists working within weapons development? Having many friends that are ex-Muslims, I do believe that they are correct when they say that Islam is Islam is Islam. There are Muslims that may have chosen to ignore the calling of destruction and murder within the Koran, but at what point will they turn and internalize the dictate that to be a Muslim will only occur when complete adherence to the Koran and the Hadiths are internalized and adopted into all aspects of their life. This country needs to wake up to the dangers that have already entered and are seeking to change this country inch by inch, thought by thought, law by law, politician by politician.

    1. PC Kills. If the observations weren’t about a possible Islamic Extremist, Major Hassam would have come up on the Personal Reliability profile. The possibility exists that this is why he was transferred from Walter Reed to Ft. Hood.

    2. Gun Control Kills (over 100 Million, so far) and most military facilities are “gun free zones” which are the same as killing fields for the deranged homicidal maniacs or Islamic terrorists.

    3. The Major Media is already preparing us for another “Gun Control” round. Look for comments about “buying the pistols in a local store” and “cop killer ammo”. Dianne Feinstein is just looking for that excuse to resurrect the “Assault Weapon Ban”.

    Rogert,
I do believe that part of the requirement for being able to run for political office is have a previous history of actually working in the private sector and experiencing the life of the American public. Obama could not even run a lemonade stand. His inexperience is staggering and incomprehensive to those of us that have actually chosen to listen to what he and his cronies say and watch what they do. The rest of the Obama worshippers will find themselves in a place of real hurt when Obama no longer needs their worship or loyalty. This scenario has played out many times in history and never learned. We should all look to the Progressive/Maoist agenda pushing forward with ever increasing speed. Now that the public has started to oppose the agenda of this administration, fast, brutal action will be their tools for inacting the changes they desire. It is going to get bad, very fast.

    • Rogert permalink
      November 8, 2009 8:20 pm

I believe, sincerely, that the ominous truth is that BO and NP and HR and the other eclectic engineers of atrocity are fully aware that they are in big trouble at the polls in the next election. That is what, I believe, is driving them to fast track their power grab to disable any efforts at stopping or even slowing them. You are, indeed, correct about the “fast BRUTAL action,” and it truly “is going to get bad, very fast.”

While they speak of their concern for the welfare of the American people, it is Liberal-double-speak. Their only concern is for their own welfare. Nancy P was growing a very fat ego as her aiders and abettors were heaping laudatory fallacies upon her. None of them have ever had to operate on the need to “earn” funds or power. They simply use their positions in government to rule…not serve.

When private enterprise lacks funds it must make adjustments to provide service or goods at attractive prices it can afford. Government of the BO persuasion seizes its funding from private enterprise and citizens…whether they can afford it or not. All they need do is speak in lies and do so convincingly enough to attain the position and misguided trust of a very naive/ignorant public. Then pass confiscatory laws of power, property and pay; laws from which they exempt themselves.

It’s especially deceptive that they scream “corporate greed” when the most dangerous greed of all is that of corrupt government and a willing populace. They are the very definition of greed, in that they want, without earning, what others have earned. Their “hope springs eternal” that they, in concert, can accomplish what no other regime in history has been able to do…gain prosperity through oppression the actual working segment of society. They do so completely oblivious to the established fact that the ones working hard and creatively will cease to do so when most, or even all, of their incentive is removed. The incentive is a fair and just reward. THAT IS NOT GREED, it is justified compensation.

I am not wealthy, by any means, but I do not seek any other man’s wealth…it belongs to him…it is not mine!

Never has it been more true that those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it. “The Dumbing of America…” anyone? It seems that it might have been a deliberate and “greedy” underlying plan all along.

When it comes to Islamist Radicals, like Major Hasan, the MSM is absolutely petrified of incriminating Muslims or their Holy Book in any of the thwarted and realized terrorist incidents which have been reported consistently between 911 and today. Even Fox News, in many respects the only objective news source available today on television, tip toes very gingerly around stories involving Muslims and Jihadists. Even their commentators are very circumspect in dealing with such stories. O’Reilly, for example, always gives the perpetrators the benefit of the doubt (something he does regularly with Obama as well).

What is it about Islam and Muslims that intimidates and frightens even Fox commentators? In fact, none of the conservative talk radio hosts ever speaks about Islamists in the same harsh tone applied to conservative adversaries. And yet, the Islamists are every bit as dangerous, if not more so, than the most radical statists in DC or the media.

There are many incidents in which Islamists have attacked their detractors, famous and ordinary people alike. Are Fox and others afraid of defamation law suits from CAIR or are they afraid of the threats to their existence, not only as media businesses, but as mortal human beings? If so, then the violence which we all know the Islamists are inclined to inflict on their detractors, is a threat to which we are responding with cowardice and political correctness. Political correctness and excessive caution will not save us from the fate that the Islamists have in store for us. Our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan can not save us for the enemy is now within our borders and will prey on our cowardice and delusions until they inflict another 911, except the next time it will be worse because they have set their sites on destruction more devastating than the last time.

Between Obama and Osama we cannot afford to become victims of political rectitude or lack of courage. How many Americans will have to die or be maimed for life before recognize the perfectly obvious truth that Islamists have only one objective – to kill or enslave us all?

Islam is not a religion. It is a complete way of life.

A complete way of life in which religion is only one part. A complete way of life in which man-made law must never conflict with Islamic religious law (the Shari’a); in which the command to amputate a thief’s hands comes straight from the Qur’an (God’s literal word, Muslims believe) and in which He has decreed that a woman’s testimony is worth half that of a man’s, and in which the directive to murder apostates was issued by Muhammad, himself.

No rocket science here. Islam, as it’s written, is antithetical to democracy and because of the inseparability of the Shari’a, it is absolutely incompatible with the U.S. Constitution. Yet, despite what any of us can read for ourselves, George Bush–and so many others–have totally misrepresented the issue, repeatedly telling the American public that Islam is peace.

And American Muslims are so thankful!

For as a result, journalists and politicians never challenge them to explain how, as Muslims, they reconcile the obvious differences between what the Qur’an demands of them and this nation’s legal backbone: the constitution. They are never asked to explain what, to them, takes precedence in their lives: the shari’a or our constitution. To claim the constitution pits them against other Muslims. To claim the shari’a pits them against the vast majority of Americans. They are living a lie–as Muslims and as Americans–and that is the reason they do not publicly renounce the behavior of their literalist co-religionists. After all, as blasphemers, they’d spend eternity in Hell.

In pointing out those Muslims who serve in America’s armed forces–in order to ‘prove’ that killers like Hasan have hijacked and perverted Islam’s true, peaceful teachings, idiots like Geraldo Rivera blindly obfuscate the obvious: those service members are neither devout nor pious.

Although I dislike the phrase ‘moderate Muslim’:

Moderate Muslims are like Catholics who use artificial birth control methods. Neither is in full compliance with the tenets of their respective beliefs.
