Media Matters thinks all Black Women are Maids or Something

November 10, 2009

The Media Matters “Racist Right Wing Meme Generator” must be in the shop.

Desperate for something, anything, to write about, the George Soros Steno Pool has been reduced to mining talk show host Neal Boortz’s Twitter feed. They came up with this:

Maxine Waters says Social Security and Medicare are “strong.” How do idiots like this get elected? This lady should be cleaning restrooms

Not only does Media Matters detect “racism” (of course) in Boortz’s comment, it holds it up as evidence of a veritable “racist cleaning lady” meme that’s sweeping American conservatism:

As proof, Media Matters points to a 2007 comment by Don Imus. And a 2006 remark by Ann Coulter (which is actually a joke about fast food workers, not housekeepers).

And… well, that’s all they’ve got, actually.

Media Matters tsks:

Why is it that when some conservatives think of successful African American women, these are the first things that pop into their minds?

Which is pretty comical when you consider all the truly racist comments liberals and leftists made about Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice during the eight-year Bush Administration. Which Media Matters chose never to condemn.

But here’s what I want to know? Why is it when Media Matters thinks of “cleaning women,” they automatically think of African-American females? And what’s wrong with being an African American cleaning woman? Wasn’t Rosa Parks an African-American cleaning woman? Why do you hate African American cleaning women, Media Matters? Huh?

PS:  how many black people work at Media Matters? And no, cleaning ladies don’t count!

So women don’t clean toilets? I don’t get it. Perhaps that “knee jerk” assumption (and insertion of innuendo) is Freudian in it’s entendre? Perhaps we have just seen a glimpse of the light in which media matters sees people of African descent?

    Best cartoon ever.*

*Also because it reminds me of my own situation: I’ve got a big black labrador retriever and very often smaller dogs bark at him. I always jokingly call those other dogs “RACIST!”

Not only is Media Matters racist, but so are a large section of their commenters. I saw a gem in the comments the other day about Michelle Malkin.
One commenter said that she thinks that she will get blue eyes and blonde hair, if she sucks up enough to the right…..
If THAT is not racist then I don’t know.
I have found that liberals are the ones who have certain views of other races that sometimes shine through their masks…

Of all the politicians that claim to be for equality, the black ones denegrate and exploit their own people more than anyone else.

I always loved that film. “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid”, I think. Funny thing is, I instantly thought of Steve Martin flying into a superhuman rage when I saw the media matters reference to “cleaning women”. Obviously, I wasn’t the only one.

Ah the Modern Liberal left, they see racism behind every bush and shrub poor dears need a rubber room and some soothing meds to keep them calm.

Politics aside, the problem with trying to demean someone by referring to a humble occupation–or with assuming that any reference to a humble occupation is obviously an insult–is that the people who honestly and industriously perform those humble and necessary occupations are unfairly maligned.

PS: my grandmother was a cleaning woman. I still have her scrub brush, on which she’d written her name in magic marker.

I suspect not many Media Matters employees have had blue collar relatives for quite a few generations.

Aw come on, Shaidle! You can’t leave us hanging like that after such a great backlash! Maybe you could do a follow up post citing numerous examples of REAL Liberal Racism?

    That would be AWESOME.

Women live longer. I bet its the same in the Black Community. The folks with all the cash are the Grannies. Just like almost all societies except Islamic.
By the way! When did working with your hands become belittling?
Generations of Women of every hue worked to the bone, just to get their kids through school.
Back in the day’s when your hard earned dollars where not given to drug addled Aids riddled male prostitutes, or crack whores. The poor today subsidize like us, all the phony homeless. Mean while Media Mumblers denounces the former, while weeping for the latter.
All the time sticking to the race theory like a lifeboat. No matter how broken this lie is.
