CNN to Lou Dobbs: Don’t Let the Door Hit You….

November 12, 2009

The left-wing media wouldn't know a class act if he anchored for them for 30 years.

Lou Dobbs’s departure from CNN has turned into a cause for celebration — at CNN. Network president Jonathan Klein dismissively called Lou’s program “advocacy journalism” in an otherwise respectful tribute. But Politico.com quotes an anonymous network source:

“I think it’s safe to say that he won’t be missed among the rank-and-file employees at the network,” said a CNN staffer. “The Dobbs show has existed in its own little universe for the last several years, in many ways cut off from the rest of the editorial process at CNN. Most people will be left wondering what this means for the primetime lineup and whether Klein can now deliver on his ‘down the middle’ mantra.”

“Down the middle”? Presumably, Anderson Cooper is now free to slander tea party protesters as perverts, while Wolf Blitzer’s team investigates Saturday Night Live skits (wrongly) with no counterpart to the Right. Or the center. CNN viewers will not forget that network allowed (or encouraged?) Susan Roesgen to antagonize tea party protesters on camera, gave Christiane Amanpour six hours to compare Rev. John Hagee to Osama bin Laden, and broadcast Soledad O’Brien asking if President Bush was “slow to respond” to Hurricane Katrina because “pictures of mostly black people were on TV” — among a litany of other, daily left-wing outrages. The bloom was off CNN’s “unbiased” rose long ago.

Lou deserves better. Here’s hoping he finds a platform worthy of his message.

Now, the lines are being drawn between networks and newspapers that have become propaganda arms of the leftist agenda against the impartial honest news outlets. Only now, we have to see what steps the government takes to insure their supporters remain viable entities using taxpayer dollars in the process. Certainly, their ability to stand alone is questionable at best.

The model in Venezuala remains appealing to our present administration, not to the majority of Americans. In that regard, we must remain vigilent.

We hope Lou realizes our hearts go out to him and his family. I am personally saddened that his colleagues at CNN never watched his back, but that is the leftist’s trademark.

You’re right that the left-wing news outlets may enjoy a transfusion of federal tax dollars, because they cannot stand on their own. If the point is to assure “quality” journalism, we’ve more than seen the lie put to that.

How could Lou’s colleagues possibly watch his back? They clearly couldn’t keep up with him.

Rush is right when he now refers to it as the Government controled media. These people are a disgrace to a profession that used to be respectable. Now they rate just above a crooked cab driver or used car salesman.

Rush is a disgrace to pond scum. He’s a lunatic, traitor and everything disgusting & inappropriate. But that seems to be the rule of thumb for the Evangelical Conservatives. However, I do like Lou but haven’t watch a full show of his in months. He is genuinely concerned about problems in this country but has gotten a bit too radical for my taste.

What an idiot. What does Rush Limbaugh have to do with Lou Dobbs? They differ on more things than they agree upon.

Because Dobbs questions this Administration, as he did more so of the previous Administration, about the Afghanistan lack of policy and snowing the public by trying to make incompetence and indecision appear to be deliberation, the lack of Swine Flu medication, immigration, etc. makes on a Radical? Why do so many collectivists fear Freedom of Speech, Thought and Enterprise?

Please see my Comments below on the Censorship Conspiracy which is relevant to Dobbs.

When I found Lou Dobbs on the news, I was elated that there was a good and honest news commentator on a channel other than Fox. Quite often, I switched channels to hear Lou Dobbs…..There was nothing else on CNN that ever caught my attention. I’ll miss Lou Dobbs and CNN will lose another viewer. Let’s hope that Lou Dobbs will be picked up by Fox News and put in a great spot….look what happened when Glenn Beck moved….!!!!

Lou Dobbs was part of the initial success of the CNN. By the late 1990’s he had become akin to a rose bush growing in a dump. I had quit watching him, a few years ago. My remote control wouldn’t go there.

The example of the media being part and straw man for the collectivists censorship conspiracy, which has been in operation for decades, is now finally being challenged. The Web as well as talk radio and Fox is awakening the sleeping silent majority which also reacted to LBJ’s Great Society which seems to evade the selective memory of many.

The arrogance and hubris of the Left is finally biting them in the butt. Their over-reaching for political power and greed blinded themselves to their own inability to manage and that the responsibility can only be kicked down the street for so long. It takes a lot of inefficiency and incompetence to make Jimmy Carter look not so bad.

It is about time for the opposition to step up with some leadership. The Obama Administration is proving rhetoric and negotiation are not policy. Where is the oppositions policy? Gingrich, who didn’t stand by the principles of his own “Contract With America”, should be put out to pasture as he has proven he is just part of the Establishment as is the RNC. Whining and complaining do not cut it. Leadership and solid realistic policies do.

Will someone tell Obama and the media that the Military has an “Exit Strategy” in every action? It is called VICTORY dummies!!

Put a brake on the destruction of our Democracy, Freedom and Liberty by enacting CONGRESSIONAL TERM LIMITS now!!

CNN(Rin Tin Tin) – ratings will go down even faster as Lou was the only person worth watching. His standards are too high for these dogs. I hope he gave them some dog food on the way out.

CNN caves in to LaRaza and they are in dead last position among all cable news stations. FoxNews refuses to be intimidated by Van Jones, Anita Dunn, Obama administration, LaRaza, and the SPLC and they are way out front in first place, with MSNBC a very, very distant second.

Whether one likes or dislikes the views expressed on Fox News one thing is certain and that is Americans respect people/organizations that refuse to cower to a corrupt government or organizations.

Never, should taypayer’s money be used to support news organizations and we all must see to it that that does not happen.

      John,
Unfortunately taxpayer’s partially fund NPR which is moving from a Leftist position to a more Progressive status. Funding any news company, regardless of format should never be allowed. I do see Venezuela’s approach to speech and media becoming increasingly more attractive to this adminstration which values Maoist philosophy over the Constitution. The crush all dissent and opposition is growing within the lame-stream media as they choose to embrace lies and deceit over the welfare of the American people and our right to live under the Constitution that we hold dear. The constant drumming of political correctness and politically-appropriate speech has destroyed the fabric of our society. The educational system and media have produced a generation of brain-dead Progressives that view themselves as god’s of multiculturalism and strive for celebrity rather than a person of substance with reason and integrity. This is the sad state of many of our youth. Hack establishments like CNN and MSNBC attract those that cannot function in a real, competitive enviroment where work is scrutinized and evaluated for accuracy and relevence. The best example of this is found in Olbermann’s lack of contribution on any level.

Just how intolerant are the Dobbs scalpers? Robert Lovato (the “Basta Dobbs” censorship campaigner) believes using any ‘variations of the “illegal” term’ in the context of immigration is racist and illegitimate speech. Seriously.
