NewsFlash: Oprah Ending Show in 2011

November 19, 2009
by

After 23 years on television, Harpo spokesman Don Halcombe announced today that The Oprah Winfrey Show will air its final episode on Sept. 9, 2011.

Oprah, a television icon of unparalleled status, plans to make the announcement on tomorrow’s show to her 42 million weekly viewers in the United States, and millions more in the 145 other countries in which her show airs.

Harpo Inc. President Tim Bennett released an official announcement to affiliate stations across the country to share the news. He ended the letter with a vague, but confident assurance.

“And, if you think the last quarter century has been something, then ‘don’t touch that dial,’ as together we plan to make history in the next 20 months and beyond.”

No one beyond the walls of Harpo corporate yet knows how they plan to “make history” and, being that the show only has 20 months lefts on air, what “and beyond” means. Doing some quick math, that gives her just over a year to campaign for 2012. Hmmmm. Let the speculation begin!

who is “oprah”? she’s on television, why?

Oprah is on television because she’s a talented broadcaster and brilliant businesswoman. Despite her politics (which really aren’t that leftist compared to plenty other TV people) conservatives should embrace her for one reason: her life is proof that the American Idea is true. She’s a black woman who went from an abusive childhood of rural poverty and potato sack dresses to a successful adulthood as a self-made billionaire. That can happen because of the American Idea.

Conservatives gain nothing by dumping on her.

No, I wouldn’t dump on her as a person, or on her ambition and how she was able to over-come abuse and poverty….I use to enjoy watching her, but the tides turned when she jumped on the “O” train bound for D.C…
Now she seems no better than those who are in it to get all they can and get out….Even the pix posted on this article is a good example of her new attitude…With her nose up in the air….just because she’s wealthy does not mean she’s any better than you or I…

For her to be onboard with the agenda of taking from the rich to give to the poor….and looking down on those who don’t agree with their “master” plan, I don’t respect her.
If she cared so much, why not give up her billions (I’m not talking about a portion, I mean all of it) for the cause instead of taxing those who work hard to keep food on the table and a roof over their families heads…and putting the “children” in hock for the next 200 years!

She is not on the “O” train for political reasons. She is clearly infatuated with “O”. That’s why Michelle does not like her.

Only thing I ever remember about the Oprah show was when she dragged a bag of fat onto the stage to show how much weight she lost. Did Oprah fire her dietician? She gained all that fat back and some. Must have come from all the Obama parties she has attended since the Joker was elected to the Black house.
