From the Pen of David Horowitz: December 3, 2009

December 3, 2009

Antonio Gramsci once described the revolutionary temperament as a pessimism of the intellect and an optimism of the will. For the veterans of my radical generation, the balance was tipped when we sustained what seemed like irreparable injury to our sense of historical possibility. It was not even so much the feeling that the left would not be able to change society; it was rather the sense that, in crucial ways, the left could not change itself.

Above all, the left seems trapped in its romantic vision. In spite of the defeats to its radical expectations, it is unable to summon the dispassion to look at itself critically. Despite the disasters of twentieth-century revolutions, the viability of the revolutionary goals remains largely unexamined and unquestioned. Even worse, radical commitments to justice and other social values continue to be dominated by a moral and political double standard. The left’s indignation seems exclusively reserved for outrages that confirm the Marxist diagnosis of the sickness of capitalist society. Thus, there is protest against murder and repression in Nicaragua, but not Cambodia, Chile but not Tibet, South Africa but not Uganda, Israel but not Libya or Iraq. Political support is mustered for oppressed minorities in Western countries but not in Russia or the People’s Republic of China, while a Third World country that declares itself “Marxist” puts itself – by the very act – beyond reproach. In the same vein, almost any “liberation movement” is embraced as just that, though it may be as unmistakably atavistic and clerically fascist on first sight as the Ayatollah Khomeini’s in Iran.

This moral and political myopia is compounded by the left’s inability to accept responsibility for its own acts and commitments. Unpalatable results (e.g. the outcome of the Revolution in Russia) are regarded as “irrelevant” – and dismissed – as though the left in America and elsewhere played no role in them, and as though they have had no impact on the world the left set out to change. Or they are analyzed as anomalies – and dismissed – as though there were in fact a standard of achieved revolution by which the left could have confidence in its program and in its understanding of the historical process.

Such wasted effort! Understand the underlying modalities surrounding the mindset of those you wish to convince… I contend “liberalism” is a mental illness, and here’s why, as you so eloquently mentioned in your blog.

The mentally ill will NOT self “critique” nor will they accept ANY amount of truth in the face of their machinations, preferring the deluded fantasies they cling to. Do NOT fault yourself for not presenting persuasive argument! The basic tenets of this disease manifest in the following ways, just to touch on a few…

1.) Belief that crimes against nature are somehow OK, even though the only way homosexuals can reproduce is by stealing children.

2.) Complete, irrational displays of rage when their precepts are challenged.

3.) The absence of a conscious. (i.e. not CARING about murdering the unborn)

4.) Machiavellian subterfuge, distortion, lies and fear mongering to control the ignorant masses.

5.) No moral compass… (remember Chappaquidick, the Clinton Body Count, etc.)

I could go on and on and on…. I’ve been researching this crap for 20 years now and while I’m not quite burnt out, I can say that sometimes, the more you learn, the more you despise what this pack of jackals is doing, but again, if we are STUPID enough to keep putting them into office, we get what we deserve. The heathen rule, as they always have… They killed Jesus, didn’t they?

DreamKiller, I’m wondering what you mean by homosexuals “steal” children.

Homosexuality by it’s very design in no way produces offspring. The only way that mindset crawls into the mainstream is by indoctrination! Teaching that something that is tantamount to a crime against nature is somehow “OK” only gives certain misguided youths a way of finding acceptance. Particularly those who are “loners” and “late-bloomers” who may have had early issues with members of the opposite sex. These are they that the predators prey upon. Given the chance, however, in time, as these kids matured, they more than likely (at least most of them) would develop healthy NATURAL relationships. (i.e. with the OPPOSITE sex) Remember, I’m pretty sure it was Adam and Eve, NOT Adam and Steve….

Excellent thoughts and writing. Agree 100%. Have many friends who are good people BUT…on the wrong side. As I see it now, the Liberals are not Democrats today but the Republicans, especially, the Leaders. While the so called Democrats are the bunch of communists, socialists, anarchists, fascists though they do NOT know this…or better to say, do not WANT to accept it because they consider themselves as “good people”…Israel kremen

Appreciate your comments… Might I say that when Jesus was asked… “Good Teacher……” that he REBUKED that disciple. Know simply, compared to the BEST of things, that which is HOLY, there are simply none good among us. Question, and the decision of application of our will is whether or not we strive to be as one of the creatures that hates what God hates, and agree with His precepts. That is what will, when the rubber hits the road (.. our accounting to our Creator ..) is HOW, in that day, WILL we account for ourselves, knowing nothing is secret, even our innermost humours.

To be on the wrong side of THAT fight, will be the sad case of those for temporal gain, have wholesaled out their character and decency…. Ugly fate that one!

And there are many people not even thinking about revolution (i.e. simple registered Democrats) who are brainwashed into believing the left’s “compassion” for the downtrodden. They don’t ponder the contradictions and utter ludicrousness of the left’s positions.

Poor George W. never figured out who the enemy was. He thought it was Ben Ladan and Saddam. The realpolitik that his administration practiced regarding the domestic left has now blown up in our face. These b——s are now in charge of all our institutions and we have a problem. We must take this seriously because they are still the fanatic killers they have always been.

    We live in dangerous times.

I beg to differ… I submit Bush KNEW who the enemy was, but just couldn’t get a public referendum on the point, so did what ANY decent leader would do… Put it in the terms the people could understand! The enemy Bush is OBVIOUSLY aware of is the contingent of persons who hold value structures that culminate in acts of murder against people of Christian faith! I give you a PRIME PROOF of this point in the following:

If the Ft. Hood maniac event that unfolded had been replaced with say an ABORTIONIST getting shot by a guy who even somehow OWNED a Bible in his house, all you would have heard was “hate crime, hate crime, hate crime….” NOW the corrupt PC mentality is to call Ft. Hood ANYTHING but a hate crime!

PTSD you say? This guy was NEVER deployed anywhere…. I’m not insulting your intelligence, I’m only putting this out there in this format. Thanks for your dialogue!
